Titan LE vs. SE Ride quality

Hello all,

I'm a newbie here. I just brought home a new Titan SE CC 4x2 (no tow package)

I'm totally dumbfounded by this. I brought home an LE CC w/tow 4x4 as a test drive before I bought the SE and was impressed with the ride. I decided to save a little money and go with the SE. WHile I was drive the SE home I noticed a significant ride difference. I feel more bumps in the road as well as more bumps in the steering. I'm pretty disappointed with the SE now. I found your site here yesterday after purchasing the vehicle. I stayed up till 2:00am researching the internet because I was so disappointed in the ride.

I've checked my air pressure and they're all at 35 psi.
I'm about to go get an aftermarket hitch put on. (Maybe that will help)

Any ideas??? I know the leather seats may make a difference in the comfort of the ride as well.

Are there different tires on the LE than on the SE?

Well did the 4x4 you drove have the OR package. If so, it has 17 wheels with slightly (.4") taller tires. That extra side wall could make the difference, plus the 4wd is heavier, which would make it ride a bit different. Either way I don't think it's going to make a huge difference. I test drove a KC SC 2wd and own a CC LE 2wd, they both ride the same to me.

The OR package has different tires, different size wheels, and different shocks. Rancho is supposed to be coming out with adjustable shocks for the Titan, which might solve your problem.

Well, I stopped on the way home from work and took my tire pressures. They seemed to be all around 38-39 hot. I wasn't sure exactly why it was so different from before accept that it was a different gauge. Anyway, I took it down from 38-39 to 33 and much to my amazement it worked! I couldn't believe what a significant difference it made for me. Even my buddy riding with me noticed a difference. It wasn't huge but it was much, much closer to the LE I drove that day. In fact, it's probably as good as I can remember.

Kyle, Be sure to check your tire pressures when the tires are COLD...IF they are 33 when hot, they will be LOWER when cold. Low pressure generates heat...not good for tires...Just a word of caution.

I run mine at 44psi and have no complaints with the ride.

its kinda off subject but before you buy the aftermarket hitch you need to be informed of the relays and connectors it takes to make the trailer lights work. I was told that the nissan hitch kit comes with all the relays and connectors. i bought a hitch off ebay really cheap but by the time i bought all the stuff to make the lights work i could have saved alot of time and trouble and got the nissan hitch for about the same money.

The relays aren't needed for signal and brake lights on the trailor (at least on the LE and SE.) As far as I know they are only for electric trailor brakes and maybe running lights. I bought a $12 oem to standard 7pin adapter and that was it.

Thanks for the heads up! I had a hitch installed yesterday and they didn't tell me I needed that until it was installed. I did some research here on titantalk yesterday and found the part numbers for the 2 relays. I got my 6000lb hitch installed with wiring harness and adapter for $200 at Discount Hitch in Pasadena, TX. I'm think now I should have went ahead and got the tow package considering I'm already $200 + into this. It would have been nice to have the DVC as well. But, at least I saved a little money.

i tested an SE with BT and one w/out before i bought and went with the BT cause the ride was so much better in my opinion...

Does the SE without the 4x4 package have the front coilover shocks?
