Tire Preasure

What preasure are you guys running? Mine had 35 from the dealer, and I pumped it up to 40. I was concerned about getting more bounce in the ride, but have not noticed it.

IIRC from the dealer my front tires were around 48 psi, the rear at 55 psi (yeah I know.) I took them both down to 44psi, which I believe is the recommended pressure on the sidewall. I don't notice a bad ride, and should get improved tread mileage.

The maximum tire pressure marked on the tire sidewall refers to the pressure required to carry the maximum load of the tire, and is generally not the same as the manufacturer’s recommended tire pressure for your vehicle. To find the recommended tire pressure for your vehicle’s tires, refer to the information label, which is usually located on the inside of the drivers door.

Right, I forgot to mention that I am well aware of the door sticker. Either way, the dealer/manufacturer apparently doesn't follow their own guidance. So far nearly 6,000 miles and no abnormal wear.

Checked mine this afternoon, all 4 was at 45lbs so I brought all of them down to 40. A little more than manufacture recommended but a little less than the max pressure the tire can handle. Figure it's just right in the middle, still have more room to expand in the hot TX weather.

With the BF Goodrich Rugged Trail tires provided with the Off Road package the sidewall states 35 psi maximum pressure. So are you guys who are running tire pressures above that, have the BF Goodrich off road tires?

Yes, 41psi all around.

Yep, mine are Goodyear SR-AS also.
Notice this morning after release from 45psi to 40:
1. The ride is much more smoother, don't feel all the bumps on the road as before.
2. When turning, with the windows down, I can hear more rubber being grinds against the road.
3. Much more gripping on the curve than before, well, I installed the leaf springs helper lastnight so that might contribute to the gripping.

So, I think everything has a cost associated with it. Want a smoother ride, more handling? lower the pressure, but then you will probably pay more for the gas, MPG probably will be down. Want a firm ride, better gas milage? bring it up close to the tire limit, but then you will feel everything on the road.
Just my opinion.

What about braking, if I am going to need grip is when I am trying to stop the truck from hitting something in front of me, so I would say my priorities are:
1-Best braking
2-Best confort
3-Best Millage
4-best tire life.

With that in mind I run 36 at front, 34 in the back... this is when not loaded, if loaded then that's different, what do you guys think, I am not expert to me is just an oppinion/common-sense/preference.
