I have a question about my rear suspension. It seems that lately, my rear suspension is beginning to squeak more and more. I'm not very suspension savy to say the least, so I was hoping for some help on this issue. Maybe there are some zerks back there that could use a shot or two of grease or something else. If anyone has any ideas, can you please post your ideas and a relatively detailed description on the procedure, type of grease (lubricant), etc. Thanks for any help in advance. BTW, it only squeaks when the truck is rocked back and forth.

I haven't looked closely at the rear leafs of the Titan, but many spring shackles have zirk fittings on them, you might check for that. Also, many leaf packs have little polymer pads between the leafs to cut down on metal to metal rubbing. Check to make sure these haven't worn off or been otherwise compromised. Other than that, I think the only other suspect could be squeaky shocks. Try to narrow down the source of the squeaks if possible.
There is a thread on here about this. It seems to be an adjustment to the rear shackles fixes the problem. One dealer replaced the shocks and many others shot lubricants on the shackles. Shocks no help & lub is temporary. Mine is in the shop now and this is one of 17 items on my list to fix. I'll let you know what I find out if I ever get it back. It's been there 8 days already but they went and got a Maxima off the lot and put a temp tag on it for me to drive so how upset could I be? Tricky bast---s knew what they were doing though because I love this Max and may have to keep it for the wife. It might have been cheaper for me to have rented a lousy GM than take the free loaner. Tricky bast---s!

Yeah. I got the same squeak. If you stand in the bed and shift your weight from side to side causing the bed to rock, you'll pick up the squeak. Also, if you lay under the truck and push up on the spare tire you can simulate the noise. Haven't found the source yet. Let me know if anyone comes up with solution. Truck is going in to the dealer in 2 weeks to replace the overhead console crack in the sunglass compartment, I'll probably have them check it out.

I just noticed mine is doing it too. I was cleaning up debris from Frances when I noticed a strange squeak coming from the rear when I climbed in and out of the bed. If I rock the bed side to side or up and down I get the noise.

Mine is doing this now and it is driving me crazy! I thought it was due to the MagnaFlow exhaust system I had installed. I took it back to the exhaust guys and they eliminated that as a possibility. Has anyone found a solution to this? It's amazing how much a squeek can annoy the heck out of you. It is pretty embarrassing too.
This is killing me too. I thought it might be the helper springs I installed. I was thinking about taking them off for a while to see if it stopped. Anyone have the squeak that doesn't have the springs?

It is the bushings at the spring clamps. Spray thoroughly with a good silcone-based lubricant. That will take care of it......... for about 6 months. Then repeat.......
No zerks anywhere on the truck ... it is a sealed chassis ... I have aftermarket springs (Deavers) and my did this as well. I thought it was the urethane bushings Deaver sent that I failed to coat ... turns out it was !!! There is no metal on rubber/urethane in/on the rear suspension except a VERy small amount inside the spring bolt mounts. If you are getting squeaking with factory springs, it is most likely like Mike H. said, that or the pads between leafs. If you guys want, I can take a picture of a factory leaf spring off the truck so you can see it without climbing under the truck ... just post up if you wanna see a pic.

On my truck it was what looks like a bracket with a roller on top behind the rear wheel on the leaf spring.I lube both sides of the bracket once a month and no more embarrassing squeak.
The funny thing is it only squeaks on the passenger side?I've never had to lube the driver side, go figure.
Later.
Oh, I use valvoline SYNPOWER Penetrating lubricant. It's got a synthetic polymer and works longer than anything else I've found. It also has this spiffy aplication tube that rotates 360 degree's.
