The Next Stage of Suspension Lift ...

My CST lift (with all 1000 miles on it) may be available for sale VERY soon !!!

The big hint ... my truck is being measured currently and will have new front and rear axles made shortly (Dana 60's) ... Why ? you may ask ... well ... stay tuned for the first ever ...

STRAIGHT AXLE CONVERSION !!!!!!!!!!!

A lot of the fab has already been planned and mocked up ... just trying to figure the steering out right now. Based on what we have measured, just bolting everything on should net about 8" (not counting tires) of lift with the springs we are using (can be as little as about 4" or as much as you want).

That's going to be very interesting. What kind of springs are you using? Are you setting it up for off-road(Crawler) or street?

Little of both ... it will be able to accomplish anything it sets its mind to ...

As for springs, I am planning on Chevy leaf springs (probably Superlift or Skyjacker). The kit as the lay out seems to indicate is pretty sraight forward ... minus the steering ... converting from rack and pinion is what we are wondering about ... but ... as I learned with my Z (and a buddy's Altima with FERRARI brakes) ... anything can be accomplished, you just have to throw enough money at it. Total is going to be somewhere in the $7500 mark not counting incidentals ... we shall see ...

You going to put d60s front and rear? Going to be a sweet setup, wish i would have put all the money together at once that i have thrown into mine and have went SFA...what are you looking at sticking under the truck? 38s? 40s? Id go for atleast a 10" spring pack and throw on some 40s shoot go bigger! 42s

THIS might help you out...it would be considerably better than D60 axles. there is a guy locally that I've wheeled with on occasion and he has a 4-door FJ with full width mog axles (portal axles), 18+ inches of lift, Hummer prototype run-flat wheels w/beadlocks and 44" MTR's--pretty nasty rig. Also, his lift was adjustable using air-bags at all 4 corners...it was like having "Robotron" following you down the trail. Anyway, I look forward to see what you come up with.

I cancelled my Deaver order with this latest project ... the Deavers may not be the best bet either ... They are light duty and reduce towing capasity ... We are working on ladder bar fabrication as well and testing some different chevy rear lift springs also for use with the CST lift.

Feel free to email me ... mikegronholz@bigfoot.com

Deaver builds many different springs. But the ones for the titan are more of a race/prerun pack. They will lower the load capacity but GREATLY improve the ride. Ive had deavers on a number of my trucks and trucks that i valve shocks for and they really are the best aftermarket spring people around.

I'm guessing with my 2 quads in the bed on deaver springs, the rear end will sag quite a bit more than the 2" it does now. Total packed weight with gear, gas cans and bikes might be 1000-1100 lbs. in the bed.

At the OffRoad Expo down here two weeks ago, I fell in love with the CST long travel kit. It adds a performance aspect to the nice looking "CST 8" lift" for the 2wd and allows you to do some off-roading instead of just looking nice. The price tag for the front end was $4500 but you got alot more usable travel, extended tie rods, new longer upper and lower control arms, nice ball joints, longer SS brake lines, dual reservoir shocks with multiple rate springs, etc. etc. For the rear, they wanted to use Deavers with resi shocks and cut the bed for the upper shock to mount in a custom tubed bed cage. Thing looks awesome, but at $17,000 for the complete kit, including all cutting welding and tube work for the rear, I'll try saving up for JUST the front long travel kit and pass on the rear portion of their long travel setup. I can't put tubes all across the bed cuz I need the ability to caryr the bikes out.

Guess I will have to find another option for the rear.

Well, I have your solution Deaver will custom make you any spring you want. My customs are in process right now. They are a 5" lift rear spring with factory load capasity. Cost ... $750 shipped. That is what a custom set costs you ... you can name the dimensions and load rating. They will literally build you ANYTHING you want. If you want my setup, call Deaver and talk to Scott. Tell him you want the same springs Mike had them make. The specs again are:

5" lift
Slightly softer than factory ride on the road
Same load rating (1 quad will still put the rear .5" higher than front)
More articulation off-road
