CST lift gas mileage

Well i finally stopped being lazy and decided to figure out what my MPG is with my 35" tires and lift. It was all pretty much city driving and i drove about 263 miles on a full take and got a little over 10 MPG. Talk about gas guzzler. The gas was 2.33 a gallon which is the cheapest i can find in east county of san diego and it cost about 60 bucks to fill up from being empty. Just some info for you guys curious on the gas mileage.

Did you recalibrate your speedo for the difference in the size of the tires? If not you probably went farther than 263 miles. (Rolling circum. of stock off road tire 617 revs per mile, while 35's approx. 576) When you calculate it out... I figure you're getting about 11 mpg, and considering 35's probably have a higher rolling resistance than stock tires, thats actually not too bad.

Yeah i forgot about that since i did not recalibrate it. It doesn't seem that bad but when the gas prices are this high it seems bad.

Assuming starting with an Off-Road or Big Tow Pkg. then switching to 305/75R/17 tires, (after lift, and not accounting for any other factors than tire size):
Data
OE Tire Width (mm) --- 285 ------ New Tire Width (mm) --- 305
OE Aspect Ratio --------- 70 ------ New Aspect Ratio --------- 75
OE Rim Diameter (in) --- 17 ------ New Rim Diameter (in) --- 17
Sample Speed ----------- 60 ------ Sample Travel Distance: --- 1
OE Gear Ratio -------- 3.357
RESULTS
OE Tire Diameter (in) ------- 32.7 - New Tire Diameter (in) ------- 35
Tire Dia. Difference (%) ---- 7.04 -- Difference Direction: -- Larger than OE
Original Odometer Reading ---- 1 -- New Odometer Reading: -- 0.934
Original Speed Reading ------- 60 -- New Speed Reading: ------ 56.05
Instrumentation Error (%) -- 7.04 - Error Direction: -------- Less than actual
Effective Gear Ratio ------------------------------------------------ 3.136

Here's the link. Remember to change the OE Gear ratio, if you don't have Off-Road or Big Tow.

Hey HVAC, I missed your "_____", (deleted for stealth mode), Avatar, that was really one of the best I've ever seen, but I don't recall the username?
o.k. found it. Sorry if you're underground or something. Actually I was thinking of changing mine to something else, too, (something more Titan-like. Mine sounds lame). I guess if JetForeman can do it, anyone can.

I was just commenting that I liked your old Avatar better, (not that I don't like your new one or anything), and then with your new username, at first I couldn't place you, (associate you with your previous posts).

Ah! I changed my avatar for Halloween; I get a little tired of the same thing all the time anyway. As far as my user name goes, my son set up my account not realizing that he was using my name for the user name. It hasn't caused any problems but, when I came accross a thread about how to change I did it. Im not underground for any reason.
