I just replied to your PM - I was out today.
When you do it, be very careful not to overstress the brake lines during assembly. You can remove the bolts that anchor them to the axle and allow them to pull off the axle. I did not do it, but they were very snug to work with. I forgot to mention in your PM that I compressed the driver side springs with several C-clamps from the overload spring to the top side, which causes the spring assembly to flatten out and raise up, to help get enough space to slip in the block. It requires about 3" of space, due to the spring centering pins having to slip into the corresponding holes in the perch and top of the block.
I did permanantly shim the emergency brake cable off the axle about 3/4", using a longer bolt and two oversized nuts as spacers. I may do a permanent mod to the driver side hydraulic lines and raise them about the same amount. But it is all working well for me with about 2500 miles on it so far.
Good luck. Let us know how it goes.
