Air Bag Leveling/suspension kit?

Hi all -

I did a search on this and could not find anything on it - sorry to repost if I missed it somewhere in there- anyway....

I was wondering if anyone has ever put an air bag adjustable leveling kit in their Titan or any other truck. I am thinking about doing this, and would like to hear any input you might have. Different brands or anthing you can reccommend. Also - how difficult it is to install.

I want this in the rear for leveling out the truck when I tow my boats. I hate driving when the suspension is squating.

I was also thinking about putting it in the front (depending upon dificulty) in order to level out if I put a plow on the truck. I am still thinking about wether or not I want to put a plow it.

So that we know what we are talking about, I have an April born 04 SE CC.

I appriciate any input you have - I know I am new here, but I have really enjoyed all the info that you have out here - This is reall a great site!!!!!!!

A toast to all of you

Thanks All!!

-Dave

Hey thanks for the info - this put a lot in better prospective for me - it looks like it would be a simple install for the rear - maybe a little more involved for the front end - Thanks though.

If anyone else has anymore info please pass it along!

I have been wondering about this very same thing as the toy hauler I pull sags the rear also. Another thing I was thinking about was a load leveling leaf spring helper. I was wondering if something like this would help as well.

Something like this is what I was thinking about. Possibly cheaper than air bags and not as permanent.

I was looking at the helpers there too. What I found out from a friend who is a mechanic is that it will cause the truck to ride much stiffer and give a much more rough ride when you are not hauling. That is why I am leaning toward the air bags - although more of an install- I can lessen the pressure or increase it when hauling. I use the truck for all driving, not just hauling so I want it to ride like a car when not hauling - just something to think about -

Sorry if this is kind of rambling - its 2:20 am I am way over tired, but can't sleep for the life of me - the wife snores!

i know we have leaf springs in the rear, but from that article seems a little labor intensive but can be done.

I persoanlly can HIGHLY recommend airbags, i used them in my Jeep GC to level the *** end. (like i said i had ciol-overs in the rear) but seems like the pictures show leaf spring applications) theare fairly expensive $150 and up i think, but let me tell you they work!!!!!!! I would aslo highly reccomend the on-boatd air pump (as opposed to the bumper mount air inlet that you have to fill from a outside source; ie bicycle compressor) when not in use you deflate them to a minimum 5 psi,and it's like they arn't even there. i usaully ran around with them a t 11 psi cause on my GC i found that to be the best ride, it firmed up the ride just evough)

anyway when loaded i inflated them to 30 psi and the rear leveled out nicely.

I had AIRLIFTS for me and they were great. I had mine proff. installed as i wanted to guarantee no leaks which they never did even after 2 years.

Looks like this is the only company that has anything out. Installation looks pretty straight forward. I have the place I bought my trailer from checking on a price for me.

I figure with this I can still do the leveling kit in the front and then lift the rear while towing, level again.
