Question on pro comp coilovers??

I eventually want to lift my truck and put 35's but am going to wait for someone to make the gears. But i am not satisfied with the Rancho struts. I am thinking of getting the procomp coilovers($776)to replace the stock struts. This goes out to those that have these coilovers or anyone that might have the measurments for them. What is the measurment when fully extended and when fully compressed? Are these coilovers rebuildable? Any info would be appreciated thanks.

Here's what I saw when I was checking them out last. The coil-overs that procomp is selling are only compatable with a titan using a subframe drop, they are about 4-5" too long to use on a stock truck. If you are dead set on getting a "replacement" coil-over right no, your only option is a 6" Sway-a-way (about $1100 with single spring) and you will need to make the upper mount and mount the reservoir. The body of just about every shock out there is just too long. Your in Beaumont, if you want, I have a set of these im gonna try in my titan if you wanna check them out.

And the truck will easily pull 35's, even for towing without the "need" for a regear, but this truck would be fun with a different set-up.

I just had the 6" w/coilovers installed last week, and the coilovers are making a clunking sound whenever you hit a bump. The shop worked for several days trying to resolve the issue without success. They said the coils are basically twisting on themselves. After several calls to ProComp, they had to order some parts to try to fix the issue. I'm not sure what parts they ordered (and wouldn't know what they were if they told me, I'm not a mechanic), but they assured me they would resolve the problem for me.

Having seen the above post, I'm wondering if the coils being too long might be the problem? Would this cause a clanking or thumping sound?

I have a 6" fabtech kit and when I tried to order the preformace kit I was not able to get the Dirtlogic coil overs. Fabtech said that they have not finished building them. King Shocks is currently building me a set of fronts.

How doy you like the fabtech lift. I have heard that this is the best lift for the titan so far. How much was it? Do you have pictures? It must look sweet.

Let me clarify myself. I meant that it was the better of the 6in lifts offered for the titan at this point, and not that fabtech makes the best lift out there. I have been looking into it and I have found that they have the least amount of problems. From what freinds, dealers, and installers I have talked to. I dont work for them or anyhting. I am just trying to figure out which would be the best for my truck at a futur date.

I am not busting your chops, just trying to make sure you get the best info you can. Ask this ... of these people with the opinion on fabtech, how many have installed, used, run the other competitors lifts on a Titan ? I do not necessarily lean to any manufacturer even though I have a CST lift. I have one of the original run kits and the more recent kits are different in a few ways. CST and Fabtech have pluses, Pro-Comp is, well pro-Comp ... they are owned by 4 wheel parts wholesalers and are the "house brand" so to speak. Here is how I see it ...

CST

Pros: -Single SOLID subframe bracket
-Welded spindles (some think this is a negative ... let me explain ... try to drill a whole in anything cast, the bit will sink right in ... weld that hole full with weld, try to drill it out ... WAY tougher to do.

Cons: -All man made ... might require some "adjusting" during install

Fabtech
Pros: -A name that can't be beat
-Arched Subframe (better clearance)
-Available with coilovers

Cons: -Bolt together subframe (can flex)

Pro-Comp
Pros: -CHEAP (both in quality and price)

Cons: -3" coilovers - how you ask ? Sway-a-way makes Pro-Comp's coilovers and the design that Pro-comp wanted, Sway-a-way would not make in a 2.5" ... hmmm ... sounds like a bad design to me (considering Baja trucks run Bilstein 9100 (2.5"), Sway-a-way 2.5" racerunner, Donahoe run 2.5" (even though Donahoe branded are Sway-a-way), and King runs 2.5" ... yet a street kit from Pro-Comp required 3" ?!?!?!?
-Bolt together subframe (can flex)

These are my opinons and fact as I see them ... I HAVE seen, touched, and installed all of these kits. My personal thoughts had me put the CST back on (well until the Dana 44 goea on this summer).

Again fabtech is the best 6in lift, when compared to any 6in lift that is out there. I never claimed that fabtech made the best lift for the titan, just that the 6in lift was the best. I have only asked about a 6in lift because that is what I am thinking about running on my truck. But thanks for the info, any info always helps.

FYI ... they are all 6" kits !!! Fabtech and Procomp are a solid 6" ... CST rounds up to 7" ... it is really 6.25" ... I measured before and after.
