oh boy. nice (not really) to hear that other people are having this problem other than me. this axle wrap is driving me nuts! i thought that the deavers would help it also, but according to EPTITAN, i was wrong. THANKS FOR SAVING ME $675 EPTITAN. Although, i still want those leaf springs, first things first. lets get rid of this darned axlewrap. PROCOMP 2wd crew cab here, with a heck of a lot of axlewrap. need to fix it and hopefully this carrier bearing drop kit would fix it. but first off....where can we purchase it? doesnt say on the procomp site. any help would be sahweet guys.

found the carrier bearing kit from pro comp through National Tire & Wheel Company 1-800-847-3287 price is 33.95 plus shipping. The part comes directly from Pro Comp in California. I ordered mine if anyone wants to wait and see if this helps stop the vibration I will post after I install it.

Ordered mine from the same place as neworleansmike. Little over $8 for shipping, $42 and some change total. He said it would be here in 4 or 5 days. Hopefully it is an easy install that I can do myself. Will keep you posted Maxpowers.

etitan you will have yours before I get mine it sounds like he told me 7 to 10 days to get from Cali to New Orleans. How sweet it would be for a 40.00 part to solve such an annoying problem.....

Well I got the kit today when I got home from work. After reading the instructions I see it is not an install that I can do myself. The bracket holding the carrier bearing has to be cut off and a couple of holes have to be drilled in the cross member to mount the new bracket to. The bearing will then be bolted to this bracket and the bracket mounted on the cross member. This is kind of what they did to mine already by cutting and re-welding but they did it by eye I think. This kit comes with a couple templates that will show you exactly where to drill the holes thus keeping it aligned properly. This could fix the slight vibration that I still have if they didn't align it properly. I guess I might have to wait a couple days yet since I spent all my pocket change tonight on having my new alarm and remote start installed. So it looks like it will be up to you "neworleans mike" to have it done first. I do know what they already did to mine made a huge difference so I am thinking that this kit will work pretty good.

Thats not axle wrap. It is driveline shudder from incorrect angle of the driveshaft. Carrier bearing shim kit, reindexing the X-Fer case, or a CV rear driveshaft can fix that problem.

Axle wrap feels like the rear end of your truck is standing up when accelerating hard...then it will go back down....it has nothing to do with vibration...that is coming from your driveline.

I don't know what your carrier bearings look like, but on SD's its a simple shim kit with shims that are different thicknesses that you stack to get the correct angle.

Can someone post a pic of the Nissan Carrier bearing and this kit you have?

Question

I'm have a similar problem with my cst kit. when i get on it i hear a popping or maybe a slipping? sound but only when its hammered down normal driving is fine. I dont think its axle wrap b/c i had a tacoma with 9 inches of lift and one point in time had a 5 inch block and had plenty of axle wrap. Any thoughts helpful.
