I've got an '11 cc heavy metal chrome 4x4, so I've got 20" stock wheels that i really like but want to put 35" tires on, what is the least amount of lift i can do w/out cutting my fenders to death... I've read the level/lift threads till I'm blue in the face... I'm hoping a 1.5" level plus 5100's in front (mid setting)and 5125's in back with 2" block will fit the bill, how wrong am I? (im thinking that would leave about .5" forward rake?)
Pretty sure you will only be able to clear 33's with that setup. That's with absolutely no trimming. 35's is going to require some fender lining trimming. PaPro4x is running 35s and he is leveled. He would be the best one to ask about the trimming.
You will be cutting with a leveling set up. And keeping stock rims for sure. That being said 2.5" is minimum to clear 35's and 3" is max for a 4x4 without buying a bracket lift. Remember you'll bee ucas with that set up, longer endlinks, cam bolts, and longer bump stops. I would not do a 2" rear block. It will put you close to 1" of rake. Stick to 1.5".
What you listed is quality, but you'll need RC, DK, PRG, or Metalworx UCA's to make it work. Bumpstops are cheap and can be found on most suspension sites. PRG endlinks are great if you want to keep the sway bar. You can also get the spacer and blocks off ebay to save some cash. Cam bolts can be found on rock auto for cheap or the expensive ones on prg or Dirtking. All that being said, you'll still most likely have to trim. Not a whole lot, but you'll be trimming. Amd for the cost you might as well spend a couple extra hundo and get a 4" bracket or 6" bracket lift. There is always the cheap option of the standard RC 3" leveling kit, but you'll still have to add blocks to it and it won't improve the ride.
so in all reality im looking at a 6" lift for 35's (with no trimming) or doing the level/lift i talked about and just getting 33's... im sure im looking in the wrong place, but the only 4" lifts i saw were for 2wd or i saw one on prg but it suggest only using 3" of the 4" avail
I am running a 2" spacer in the front with bilstiens on the middle setting and a 1.5" spacer in the rear. After buying the DK UCA's, bilstiens, end links, etc, I could have bought a 6 inch lift for the money I had in it.
But I like the look and on my application (2010 Pro 4X), i didn't have to trim at all and i like the look better than a lift.
ok so after searching for just a little bit i found the rancho 4" kit Rancho Nissan Titan Suspension Lift Kits obviously rancho wants their shocks sold with this kit, is that the best way to go or would bil 5100's still be better (and would they even fit correctly)
If you want 35's, I would say stick to the rancho kit. It will only work with their shocks, which is the major draw back from it. Just so you know, that kit will cost more than the Rough Country 6" lift, which is a great option also and could clear up to 37" tires depending on offset of rim. The bills would be best if you want to stick to 33's.
ive been doing some searching and some research and found out my stock rims are only 20x8.0 so my 35" tire choices are severely limited, looks like i may just be going with my originally stated lift/level and 33" tires...
I was in the same boat, wanted to run 35s. And not have to cut the fenders up. After a large search I realized that is wasnt going to happen with out a 6 inch lift. I ordered the pro comp stage 1 kit with bilstein struts and a new 18x9 inch wheel with toyo open countries MT. Every thing was right at 4 grand, is it expensive yes but its such a huge difference. I would bit the bullet and lift it 6 inches, my buddy has a 10' pro 4x with a level kit and 33s and its still on the small side.
Do you mean a 1.5" measured spacer or a 1.5" LEVELING SPACER? 1.5" measured tall equals about 2.5" of lift which on any pro4x depending on tire choice will clear 35's with only minor trimming if any.
