They are supposed to keep the truck level (at least more level than without the spring), smoothen out bumps, and control occilation that sometimes occurs on the freeway. I'll try to take some before and after pics with the trailer hitched and post them later this week.
Hey PT,
Just wanted to know if you got the Timbrens installed yet & how they performed. Still considering those for my setup

I guess I dropped the ball since I've had the Timbrens put on a couple days before Memorial Day, and I must say they work pretty well. They have eliminated any harsh bottoming that I was getting (which didn't happen much in the first place, but it did happen on occasion) and they have lessened the tendency for the front of the trailer and back of the truck to bounce while on the highway, you know, that rythmic bounce you get on some of the rougher highways.
So would I recommend them? Absolutely. They do a real good job, and they do it passively and at a bargain ($155 shipped to your door). You won't even know they are there, unlike the add-a-leafs, which will make you wish you had a kidney belt (I'm exaggerating, but they do make for a much rougher ride).
Even with the Timbrens and LT tires the truck feels a little loose with the big load I pull. I have Bilsteins coming from PrerunnerGreg for the rear and I'm hoping they'll help to settle the Titan. Once they become available for the front I'm sure I'll give them a shot there also.
I happen to have the trailer hitched as I write this because I'm dropping it off at the dealer in the morning for warranty work so I'll take a couple pictures from underneath the truck and post them tomorrow. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Hey PT,
Thanks for the info. Will look further into them. Sounds like a good choice for the truck

Okay, here are a couple pics of the Timbrens installed.
The first is with my 8000-lb travel trailer hitched. You can see the Aeon rubber spring is just shy of touching the bump stop pad. The last two show the spring in the unloaded state.
Does the axle flex less through trails? It looks like it takes up too much space. Has it helped your everyday ride with no trailer? Or is there no difference?

I'm sure articulation (flex) has been negatively affected, but since I have a 2wd drive and axle articulation isn't my big concern I don't mind.
Unfortunately, everything is a compromise. I traded offroad flex for a smoother, more controlled ride while loaded. Once airbags become available for the 4x2 I will most likely go that route.
Hey PT,
It's been a while since I asked you about the Timbrens, so just wanted to let you know I ordered them from TruckSpring today. Looking forward to getting them installed. Went camping last weekend & set the Dual Cam at four links. Made the truck sit real good but had a lot of bounce to it. Set the hitch to 5 links & took a lot of the bounce out but had a lot more squat. I think the Timbrens are a good choice. Thanks for the good advice

Right on BobF49. They should help with that squatting problem. I have since installed the Bilsteins and they were a vast improvement also. I still want to try airbags, mainly because I want to soften the rear suspension a bit for everyday use, then pump-up the bags while towing. Even with the bags I plan on keeping the Timbrens.
Hey PT,
Got the Timbrens the other day; was going to install them by myself, but went over to my neighbors' to help him work on one of his vehicles and he insisted we install them. Took ten minutes. Of Course it makes a difference when you use a floor jack & an impact wrench, which would be my recommendation for anybody installing these on their truck. Heading off camping this weekend & will let you know how they perform.
