Shock upgrade

I want to upgrade the shocks on my stock 4x4 titan to stiffen the suspension. Reading on this site most of the posts about shocks come from people that have lifts. I am curious if anyone has upgraded the orginal shocks and what the results were. I have no idea how stiff the orginal shocks are compared to others on the market.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I changed my original rear suspension with OE Monroe Reflex Shocks in the the rear. I dont know about stiffening, but they sure did help out with a smoother ride. Here is a pic with the part numbers for the Monroe Reflex shocks and struts:

PRG has some Bilstein shocks for the rear and some Fox coilovers for the front. Soon he will have some bilstein coilvers for the front as well.

The Rancho RSX shock and Monroe Reflex are similar, if not the same, and both are manufactured by the same company, if I remember right.

PrerunnerGreg, (PRG), sells the RSX, and I think he is looking into rear shocks for stock height Titans too, so you might want to PM him.

I ordered a set of the Bilsteins rears from PRG this past Friday. I'll let everyone know how I like them.

Sounds like the Bilsteins might be the way to go for towing. I will be waiting to hear how you make out.
