Shocks for Lowered Titans

Any of you guys with lowered titans replace your shocks yet? I was told to use air shocks for the rear. If you have any suggestions, it would be much appreciated.

Hmm, and last I heard, here in America, I can say what's on my mind. As far as your last sentence above, you should probably follow your own advice.

Well I wasnt purposly coming to this thread and acting as if what someone wanted to do to their ride was the worst idea on earth. There are ways of saying you dont care for something that sound a little nicer then "why the hell would anyone lower a titan"

I know for myself, when I post a pic of my truck or something like that, it's nice to hear people say they like it. Or even when somone makes the comment, I'm not really into bigs rims or shiney rims but yours looks nice. They make their point about it not being their preference but still acknowledging that it might look nice to others.

It just kinda seems like some people go out of their way to let other members know they dont like what they have done with their truck.

But like you said, we are all allowed to voice our opinions when we want.

Not to hijack this thread anymore than it already has, but if you can't answer the question don't post here. Start your own thread to answer your question. Big tite, try to pm M95roadster he may have the answer for you.

Guys, I really don't care what others think about lowered or lifted trucks. I just want to find out what aftermarket shocks others are using to smooth out their ride. There are a few Titans on this site I don't care for, but I keep my opinions to myself unless that individual asks what we think.

Okay, can anyone suggest any aftermarket shocks that you've used on any Titan? Just trying to see what's available for a more comfortable ride guys.

I'm putting Bilsteins on the rear of my Titan, but I'm actually doing a lift.

I'm getting them from Greg (PrerunnerGreg). They are supposed to improve the ride. Ask Greg, he knows a lot about the Titan's suspension.

Good Luck.....

Thanks for the compliments! I agree 100% with what you're saying! This thread doesn't ask for peoples' opinion on a lowered Titan, but about aftermarket shocks. So those negative opinions do not belong in this thread.

Anyways, I too am looking for some performance shocks and have not had any luck. There should be some eventually, I hope.

If you're looking for a more comfortable ride, then the aftermarket shocks won't help. These shocks will actually firm up the ride some. The problem is with the suspension travel. When my rear was down like yours I had less than 1/2" of travel before the frame hit the bumpstops.

Me too-better ride!

I'm also hunting for some"better ride" read softer ride shocks. There should be something out there soon that can offer compression and rebound adj so maybe you can dial out a bit of harshness. The springs have a lot to do with the hard ride, but maybe the shocks will help.Thanks.Charlie PS Has anyone taken a good look at the frontier rear end?I wonder if shocks from it would fit?It is maybe 400-500 lbs less, they might give a better ride?It would be a bit sloppier-especially with a load, but I could live with that.

Mike,
I used the streetbeat lowering kit (leaf springs). They weren't as expensive back when I bought mine than they are now. I think I'm going to give the air shocks a try and see what happens.
