better is the only way to go!!! hey pauly, you've got to be lovin' those fox's huh? i drove the mighty PRG titan and as i've said in a another post, wet myself while experiencing the superb suspension characteristics of the coilovers/upperarms/PRG deaver springpack combo. omg, is it day and night versus the oem stock setup. can't wait for the upgrades myself!!! as greg stated, "i hate waiting!!!!!!"
good to see your titan getting outfitted with the best stuff!! take care Pauly!!
I'm doing it right this time...nothing but high quality for my ride!
I've had enough of the "tall" 6"+ suspension systems, especially on a 2wd. I'd much rather stay around 3-1/2" with a suspension that looks better than stock, works better than stock, clears 35's (although I'll stick with 33's until someone makes a lower set of gears), and is durable enough to handle virtually anything I through at it. I love the look of the 6"-8" lifts (like yours Austin...thats a nice looking truck!) but they don't do what I need them to do.
Thanks!
Yeah, the bed is quite a bit more difficult to load now that it sits so high. I can definitely understand wanting to keep a useful bed... but I use my truck more for playing offroad than anything else.
Supposedly, they're out now. I paid for mine two weeks ago and have yet to see them, or receive any meaningful or timely follow up on what the status is. At this point, my confidence is not real high in either the manufacturer or my supplier/installer. I'm thinking of just cancelling the order for both the Rancho 4" lift and coilovers.
Regards,
John

So did you get the new upper A arms also, or is it just the coilovers? I thought with them there was an issue with the upper arm making contact with something. Do you have any rear blocks on now or is it just the front? By adding the new rear leafs how much does it reduce your payload/trailer tongue weight? Somebody should come out with a way to get the 2" or so in the rear without losing any payload. Also how is all this on driveshaft angles and CV angles?

I haven't had any issues with the upper arm hitting the coil bucket and the Fox's lift the front higher than the rear (the rear is stock height).
Adding the Deavers will soften up the rear a bit. But adding a simple airbag system will stiffen it right back up, but only when needed, which gives you the best of both worlds. As soon as I get some extra cash I'll be doing this.
According to Greg the Titan's CV joints are the cats meow, and will not have any issues. It seems they are an 8-ball design, whereas the old Toyota CV's that I used to deal with were 4-ball (I don't know about the current Toyota CV's), and we'd blow them out quite frequently. Driveshaft angles up front aren't changed, and with only a 2" or so lift out back it shouldn't be an issue.
Pauly, how are ya bud? so lovin' the foxes?? i'm contemplating going with the fox's rather than the DREs but i'm on the fence... i can't remember if greg said you could still increase the front end lift w/o getting the longer spindles he's workin on? with the foxes do you think it soaks up like his DREs?

What's the good word, Tortuga?
I think I remember Greg saying the Donahoes will be a bit better than the Fox's, but I just couldn't pass up on the deal he made me for his used set of Fox's. If I were to buy new, I would go with the Donahoes, but I do love these Fox's!
I think the spindles will be your only option to pick up some more height, unless you go with a full on lift kit. But if your looking for 5"-6" of lift, the coilover/control arm/spindle setup is the only way to go.
Woo Hooo, just saw this thread. Got around to putting on the Bilsteins from Greg the other night, back from running around camping and now the coil overs for us 4X are soon to be had along with a new upper A Arm. Oh, all is right in the Titan World thanks to PRG. Except for the latest storm spiking fuel prices again, ArGGhhh. Oh well keeps me from puttn' my foot in it all the time.

Actually, the heighth on Greg's was perfect for me! i seriously LOVED the feel of his suspension when i took it for a spin, unbelievable the day and night difference from stock to upgrade! i can't wait for the coilovers!! the foxes will suffice!! maybe in the future when i can open up the pocketbook for tires i will dish out for the PRG spindles! thanks again Pauly!!!
2. This would give 3" of lift to the front, I have a 1" rear block in the rear, would adding deavers from PRG and bilstein give me back a small rake?
3. How would this set up work Vs the crappy oem?
on #2 the deavers would give you an additional 1.25", the bilsteins do not provide the lift, the springs do but you'll need the bilsteins if you get the deavers as the stock shock will be too short.
on #3...you won't believe the night and day difference the coilovers and the deavers make!! unbelievable! i've driven greg's then jumped in mine shortly thereafter and i utterly hated my titan!! ughh... with the PRG set-up, you'll hit bumps/dips, curbs, driveways, speedbumps and the PRG set-up will soak up the harshness and literally tame the jarring the inferior OEM crap. keep in mind the OEM sh:t is made dime a dozen with internal designs that are JUST good enough. Just good enough doesn't cut it in the real world of crappy a$$ roads, its almost as if you're offroading on a daily basis on today's rarely maintained roads!! there's really not much more i can say w/o getting all technical other than Greg's set-up is the REAL DEAL!!! i laugh when i see a Nissan Titan/Armada commercial and you see them just bullrushing through rough terrain and racing through the desert, cause you know that with the OEM set-up you'd get jarred around and lose control. never realistic!
