Hi there, Anyone knows if there is any aftermarket replacement shock out there that would replace our oem rancho and still use the oem coils?
The reason I ask is because Im tired of my front suspension bottoming out(shaking the whole dash board, a-arm hitting coil bucket also) too easy on large speedbums.
Do I need a stiffer/better shock, is the oem coil the culprit for being to easy to compress?
I would love to get new coilovers from Greg (fox, dr, etc) but money is a concern right now.
Greg: Anything news on the bilstein direct replacement front shocks for our oem coils, how much?
THX in advance

just waiting on greg for the word too on all the toys... its so hard to be patient. hehe
x2 here...
I just saw that Bilstein has a coilover for the Tundra and its only $650, why wouldnt they make something like this for the Titan with the same price...

unfortunately Bilstein hasn't even begun development of a shock for the titan yet and even if they have already its availability would be at the earliest 6 months. best to either wait or confer with PRG on acquiring something he tunes for the titan. really no other alternative!! although greg's is the best alternative, especially cause he developed it and tests his own product out on his titan!!

cause the a-holes think that the ford and toyota market are greater than the titan market. man are they sooo wrong!! when i say a-holes i also mean Donohoe Racing cause they developed the F150 coilover first and put the titan's development in the storage room till they were done with the F150 setup.
Okay, I know this might not be PC on this board but Ford sells a ton more F150s then Nissan sells Titans so it does make good business sense to go after the larger market.
Besides the fact that I thought the Titan was the best of the full-size trucks I also bought it to be different. Well, being different means less access to aftermarket choices.
yeah, you speak only the truth, but we all think we're just a bit more special than f150 owners cause of our titans so we should be treated with a higher priority since a large percentage of f150s are really used for fleet services, businesses and what not as opposed to daily drivers.
A good point, another good counterpoint to what I said is how a company can easily corner the market for our truck. Look at Greg with his PRG kit. Not only has he sold a bunch, but his kit almost has a fanatical following. Good product and service and only guy in town should = $$$$.
Oh well I just hope greg brings out some of his WIP goodies out to us soon and doesn't forget about all us 4x4 guys either

At the price Greg charges us I can tell you he's not making much off his parts. It's more like: Best product + best service + best price = Loyal Customer
The way I look at it if your willing spending $650 for Bilstein why not save a little more and get top of the line for another $300 for the coil-over or to make you feel better $150 per side. No regrets later.

What about the rancho shocks that use the factory coils, but have a threaded body to allow 0"-3" (??) adjustment? Did everybody forget about them, or did I miss something (discontinued, craptacular, etc..)? I know they are not as "heavy" as the more expensive coil-overs, but if you are looking for an economical solution....

I wasn't trying to say Greg is hosing us. I'm just saying speaking in generic terms as far as a business model. Greg wouldn't have the admiration that he does with Titan people if he was hosing us on price. I was simply trying to justify manufacturers going after a smaller market (e.g. titan).
I think this does prove my finatical following point though :P
