New PRG Lifted Titan Pics!!!

Took my 05, 4X4 Titan over to Greg's house late Tuesday last week and picked it up Friday after work. Let's start with some history.

About 3-4 months ago, Greg came over to my place and installed his 2" PRG levelling kit, rear Bilsteins, and a 2" block in the rear. This gave me some front end lift, and maintained some rake, which I wanted.

After enjoying this setup for awhile, I realized I needed more lift and a much better suspension for the offroad stuff I like to do. My truck rarely get's driven and when it does, it's either going offroading, or out to dinner with wife and kid. So, I got ahold of Greg again and swapped my current setup for:

Rancho lift kit
Fox Coilovers
Total Chaos Upper A Arm
Deaver Leaf Spring upgrade
1" Billet block in rear
Custom Sway Bar End Links

Pics are below and it looks awesome!! More than that though, it rides even better!!!! Took it over to Lytle Creek (SoCal) today and drove way too fast through the streams and ruts headed back to the shooting range. After that, I headed to Sheepshead Canyon Road over to Mormon Rocks and hit over 60 on the washboard roads. Front end soaked up the bumps like you've never seen. I was actually shocked how much better the truck performed. Whereas before, I would keep it slow to avoid front end banging and creep over the ruts, I flew over them today!!!

I can't recommend this enough for you offroaders who want Mojo suspension upgrades.

The first pic (771) is before the lift and shows the 2" front leveler. There's another there of the stock Upper A arm. Take a close look at the folded sheet metal, then look again at the new Total Chaos upper A arm. Huge difference!! Great attention to detail as Greg had to grind off a little from the coil bucket, but of course he painted it gloss black so it wouldn't rust.

The rest of the pics show the truck with new adds, including close ups of the suspension. Was thinking about the new, 315, BFG, AT's I want to get, and wouldn't you know it, I actually got a big, honking nail in my front right today. Fixed it up and are headed to the newly opened Cleghorn trail tomorrow for a nice trip down to Silverwood Lake. Wife and baby will be coming, but no worries as they'll hardly feel the bumps.

Oh, I also towed out a stuck Bronco today. Poor girl went flying off the road in a 4X4 area and waited for an hour out in the boonies for somone to come by. The mighty Titan pulled that beast free after the 3rd tug. Didn't even have to resort to yanking her out.

I'll upload a few more pics later, but I hope you guys enjoy!!!!!

Regards,

John

More pics

Before and after pics below of the front fender well. You can see the additional 3" of height I got over the 2" leveling kit I had on before, for a total of 5" over stock. It'll go at least 1" hight, but I like a tad bit of rake. In the future, I might go to a 1.5" billet block in the rear and raise the front another 1/2" or 1".

Regards,

John

Great looking truck, you need BFG 35" MTs or some Pro Comp 35" Xterrains in that truck, keep the oem wheels, they look awsome...

Congratulations...

Thank guys. Glad you like the look. I aree completely that it needs 35" tires. Greg was telling me he's running BFG, 315, AT's on his and likes them a lot. I may just look in to a set of those or check out the ProComp's.

My local Nissan dealer dipped the stock rims and they were on the truck when I bought it. I really like them, so yeah, I'll keep them for sure.

Regards,

John

John,

It looks like you live really close to me. I'm on Beech and Base Line. I'm surprised I haven't seen your truck around town. Looks good!

Hey John,

Truck looks awesome. Why did you have to grind the coil bucket?

Thanks....

PTGarcia, if you're off Baseline and Beech, you're closer than you think. I live off Beach up near the 210, so I'm about 1-2 miles away. Not suprising you haven't seen it. I don't drive the truck all that much, so its usually in the driveway. I work in Irvine, so I commute on a motorcycle.

As to the coil buckets, Greg can answer better than I, but I believe its so the upper A arm will clear them during flex. I totally rely on Greg for my suspension as I know very little about the subject.

Regards,

John

Does Greg have kit pricing available for this stuff yet? I sent him a PM a couple of weeks ago asking what would work with the Rancho kit I was planning on buying, but never got a response. These options look to be a lot better than the shock offerings from Rancho.

Greg does have pricing on all this stuff, though the Fox Coilovers are a bit slow in coming from the manufacturer. He was out of town for a couple weeks on vacation. PM him again and I'm sure he'll respond with pricing.

Regards,

John

The rear is higher than the front.

"Rake" refers to having the rear of the truck sitting higher than the front. Like a 60's-70's musclecar.
