more load

hi all
i am not happy with the Titan load capacity, i want to be able to carry more hevey stuff (double the capacity) what can i do?

i found out that the Titan has only five peices of metal (i think it is called springs) while my other car has like 12 of them

my question is if i increased the number of springs whould i get more load capacity?
i am willing to give away the ride comfert!

are there any other way to achive this?

My titan is for 4x4ing only

thanks

Re: more load

I think airbags might help you there... But double the capacity compared to oem is gonna be hard to do.

Re: more load

So let me get this straight. You are wanting to do something more along the lines of this?

I am sure if you are willing to do a little fabrication you could rig something up pretty easy. Go to the junk yard and pull some springs off a 1 ton chevy and mount them on the frame of your Titan. Just reinforce the frame where you mount them. IMO I think this could be very dangerous and should not be done. If you only do 4x4 with it why not just go buy a cheap one ton 4x4 and fix it up instead of ruining your 1 or 2 year old Titan?

Re: more load

No matter what you do to the suspension & frame, the rear end is still only rated for 3800 lbs...I would think twice about overloading any rear end by the amount you are talking about.

Or this:
Overloaded Titan

I almost crushed my truck. Did you not know that you needed grossly more load capacity before you bought it? You could add one (or even 2) Add-A-Leaf springs to your rear spring packs, but you will still not get to where you want to be load-wise, and it will ride very rough when unloaded.
