Exclamation My experiences with PRG Leveling Kit

Hey guys, I am just going to let you all know I am happy with the kit.

On the website it says to refer questions to "jen@...." which I sent three emails and never once got a response until I contacted Greg directly. He then replied immediately to every e-mail and rushed my order through. (Thanks Greg)

I got the parts in about 4 days via UPS. I wussed out and had a local shop install the front part of the leveling kit. That costed me $196. (Way too much, but the only shop that would do it.)

Once I did that, I was able to throw on 315 70 17's in the BFG All Terrains without it rubbing. The tires actually touched once... When I drove off a curb while turning. Tires were $990 installed for the 4.

I then returned to the 4x4 shop and got an alignment. $76. Here are the specs.

The range of TOE for the front tires: 0.07* - 0.15*. With the kit, it put my left at .37* and right at .35*. Aligned both to 0.11*. Camber and caster are both at the minimums, not touched. The total toe range is 0.14-0.30. It was at 0.72, aligned to 0.22.

Getting in this truck is so much better.. It seems like I have to step up a lot! The over all appearence is much better! No less the feel while driving... Not looking down at the road anymore! Well worth it guys!

However, the next day while driving, I saw an old lady blocking 2 lanes of the 4 lane road I was on while she was stopped at the instersection of a cross street after being involved in a hit and run. Long story short, I went around the block, pulled in behind her, got her out of the intersection.. While standing there my poor truck was hit by a car!!! I almost cried! Doesn't pay off to be nice guys!!!

Anyways, I am going to take good pictures today that I will post tonight!! Enjoy!

Mike

PS: Thanks Greg!

Pricing overview:

Leveling kit (front and rear): $269
Installation (front only): 196
Alignment: 76
Total cost: $541.00

Tires: 315-70-17 BFG A/T's: $990.12. (Discount tire[.com])

And of course, my total cost of aftermarket items to date... $4581.89. Crazy!

Here are some pictures! Enjoy!!

PS: I have NOT installed my rear blocks yet. This is just the 2" front lift with tires. I need to lift weights before I can get those damn shock bolts out!!

Re: My experiences with PRG Leveling Kit

I had to use an air impact wrench for one of the rear shock bolts. Three of them came out with a breaker bar, but one resisted even a breaker bar with a pipe extension.

That screen & bezel are sweet!

Re: My experiences with PRG Leveling Kit

Good to see another CarPC fan. I have an 04 bmw that I put a car PC in (if you are a member of mp3car.com...my user name is the same). anyway, I just bought my wife an 06 4x4 crew cab with OR package. I was thinking that I may not put the car PC in her car too.....but just noticed yours. what did you do with the overhead console. did you leave stock DVD screen and player or did you add another screen for rear seats? No pics of your console that I see.

Re: My experiences with PRG Leveling Kit

Looks great Msnook, but let me guess that you didnt yet adjust the tow-in. The camber looks to be off a bit more than usual, but easily adjustable. I bet if you drive in reverse just a bit it will drop the front just a hair and make the camber look better. But it should not change in either driving in either direction after proper alignment..
