I want to have the rancho lift installed on my titan. I have been doing a lot of research on the internet to see who offers the best pricing. I found a decent price, so my next step was to find a place to install it. I went into the shop and inquired about having a lift installed. The guy told me that he would rather have me order the lift from him. That was not a problem, it was only going to cost me a few dollars more. But then he told me that he wanted to charge me $850 for install and alignment. He then also said that he would need my truck for 3 days! I know that it will take longer because they have to break my stock coilover down and replace the shocks, but this should be able to be done in a day I would think. I know from reading many posts that PRG Greg can do 2 lifts in a day. So why would it take a reputable shop 3 days and then charge that much money? I guess what I would like to know is what you guys have paid to have to have your trucks lifted and aligned and how long it took. Thanks in advance for any info that anyone may have. I guess I’ll have to find another shop, but there aren't many around here in New Jersey.

when I called around the labor rate was $600-$800 so he's around the rate.
as far as 3 days I'm guessing they're not going to work on your truck straight through either. Maybe different guys will take turns on different areas...who knows.
that's why I'm having PRG do my truck on Monday. 1st time the right time.

thats about right install price wise. I have seen anywhere from 450-1100 in my area and I would rather pay a bit more from a shop who has either done one before or willing to back up there work. As far as 3 days, that seems way to long. I would think anyone mechanically inclined could do it without a previous install could do it in a day.
thanks for the repllies guys. i wouldn't mind payin that much for good work at all. to know things were done right is worth the piece of mind to me. but 3 days? that seems a little bit too long for me. i just want the lift done right now. no rims and tires. i wish i lived near PRG greg. that way i would know things were being done right with all of his experience with the titan

3 days is way too much time. he might not be familiar with lifting titans. the price also seems pretty steep. if you get it done ask prg about the sway bar end links. you will want to get those. im sure you will like the rancho kit. good luck.

Installed mine myself in a day and then took it in and got a lifetime alignment for $129.00. $850 seems like a lot. I only had to drill two new holes. The rest is all bolt-in. I used a pair of basic auto parts store spring compressers to do the struts. I wasn't sure they would handle those large springs, but they did the job. Some of the factory hardware is installed with locktite so I had to use a breaker bar to get them loose. Otherwise my air tools worked fine.

Thanks for the info guys. Thanks for the info about the swaybar endlinks doitbby. I know that many were having problems with them hitting the CV Boots. I might pay $850 if it were only to take 1 day instead of 3 days and the install was warrantied and all. I’m currently shopping around again to see what other shops will do it for. Thanks again and wish me luck.

My guy here in the Boston area (Wilmington, MA) wants $750 with alignment to install the Rancho Kit.. and I was recommend by this guy! He does good work and backs his work.. but man this seems too much for me. If someone would do this for $500 I would jump on it in an instant!

if he's that good it may be worthwhile to do it. Cost is always a factor but quality is too. if he can work the price of the parts then you can offset that.

Rancho Technical Support said this kit should be installed in 6 hours if a pro shop were to do it. So $500 without alignment seems to be a fair price since that is $90 per hour. Anything more than $600 seems like hwy robbery to me.
