I just installed PRG's 2.5 kit on my beast today and had it aligned this evening. My back is sore as hell... but I love it!! My short @ss darn near needs to get some nerf bars to climb in it now. The change is very dramatic to say the least.
Anyways, I have been seriously considered getting a set of Bilsteins from PRG next but was wondering... How do they feel to y'all that have'm installed??
Did they raise or lower the rear end?
Is the ride much stiffer now?
Does your Titan handle corners better with them?
My apologies for all the questions. I did a search for "Bilsteins" and sifted thru some of them but did not find anything.
Your input is appreciated.

I replaced the OEM "Ranchos" with PRG's Bilsteins. They are far superior. The main thing I noticed is that the Bilsteins have good rebound, whereas the Ranchos had very little. One of the OEM "Ranchos" was actually already blown, and made a strange gurgling sound on compression. I think your non-off road OEM shocks might be a bit better than the "Ranchos".
It is difficult for me to isolate the ride difference applicable to the Bilsteins as I also put on the DR coilovers. The combination made a dramatic difference.
The Bilsteins are a great improvement to the rear. They are firm, but compliant. They remind of something you'd find on a European sports car. Woth ever penny.
I agree with the comments I've read so far. I have the Bilsteins in combination with the Deaver upgrade springs, so there was an increase in height for me. I also have the Fox Coilovers in the front and the overall ride is awesome.
The cost for the Bilsteins and/or the Deavers is pretty reasonable. If it's in your budget I would recommend getting both. You will definitely be happy with the setup.
Good luck with your decision...

i would also definately go with the bilsteins and make sure you get them from prg at www.titanspecialist.com. greg upgrades the shocks for the titan and he sells them at a great price. i would also recommend the deavers he sells also. you will not be dissapointed in the ride. in the back seat it used to be real bouncy, but now it seems so much smoother.

Y'all convinced me. My next major purchase will be the Bilsteins. I wouldn't mind upgrading the springs either, as I tow a 6500 lb trailer, but don't really need any more lift in the rear.

I think there were prior posts regarding (1) a minimal or no-lift Deaver pack and (2) a Deaver pack that would retain an overload leaf and thus full towing capacity
as being in the works. Haven't heard status on these lately.
Thanks for the info guys. I'm thinking of going with the all go no show lift.
That would be DR's, DEAVERS & Billsteins for two inches of lift and hopefully a MUCH better ride.
Also contemplating just going big with the rancho. Not enough money for both. What advice could you guys give?
Hope I'm not thread jacking here.

I've never had the benefit of TC A-ARMS explained to me. Do they increase travel even on the DR Coilovers or is the travel limited by the coilover. One day I'd like to be able to hit bumps hard with the titan and still drive it home. If I can also fit it in a few parking garages, all the better.
Thinking of sort of "sleeper" off road truck. Obviously it's not a sleeper with the K&N and Banks when it come to performance but you get the idea.
I don't believe there is any benefit of going with the Total Chaos arms with the Donahoe coilovers alone. The Donahoes are designed as a direct replacement. It's my understanding, however, that Greg machines a spacer that you can use with the Donahoe coilovers to reap the benefit of the longer travel arms. You probably should get in touch with Greg to find out for sure.
I have the Fox coilovers, which have more travel than the Donahoes, and the Total Chaos arms, and have a solid 4" lift, and the ride is great. And the faster I go, the better the ride gets.
