Lift kit w/rear air bags.......

What is the best lift kit to use while also retaining the mounting brackets that come with the FireStone rear air bag kits? I would like to be able to run 35" tires but still need the bags for towing.

Re: Lift kit w/rear air bags.......

Anyone have any suggestions? From some research I have done on my own, I've found that as long as the lift uses blocks in the rear I should be fine. What about add-a-leafs? I'm thinking that it would change the arch of the leaf springs and then I would have to mod the brackets.

Well since all of the kits use blocks to lift the rear (except Fabtech which uses blocks and add-a-leafs) You should have no change in the way the air bags work. The travel between the top of the spring and the frame should not change at all. I would say they will work just fine for ya.

DS, I am not sure about what lifts to use or not to use but I just have to say if you go with the Firestone airbags you be very happy with their capabilities. I have them and love them. Just to warn you though the ride will be a little bit stiffer than stock depending on how much air you put in them. Also after I installed them my VDC, ABS, and Slip light came on and have not gone off. I have not done anything about it yet but I believe it is just some sensors that are probably are messed up.

Re: Lift kit w/rear air bags.......

I have the bag kit but haven't installed them yet. I was going to put them in last weekend, but the wife had other plans for me. I really hope it helps level out my truck while in tow and hopefully increase my MPG a little.

How do I re-size my sig pic?

Re: Lift kit w/rear air bags.......

THere are 2 different bag kits, te kind that mount on-top of the spring and use a "sleeve" bag and the "double bellow" type that sit on the axle. Ive had experiance with both and personnally had the double-bellow type and hated it. It rode horribly even with no pressure. The less expensive sleeve type system works much better and you will have no problem runnign it with any size block.
