Hey all, I was thinking about replacing the rear factory shocks (non-Rancho) with Rancho or something else. I looked in the service manual and it looks to be pretty straight forward. has this been the case for any of you that have switched out on your own. Also is this considered a 1 man job, or am I overly confident. What the manual says is listed below. Thanks for any tips.

If you drive on any type of dirt spend the extra 50$ and get premium shock such as a bilstein or pro comp. I took the stock ranchos off at 30k and they wouldn't even rebound after pushing the together. You will not be unhappy.

driving my 4X2 and then driving a loaner with 190 miles on it...06 with 4X4 offroad package...WOW theres a difference...the 4X4 at least with me maybe others will say different but my truck rides WAY better than the rancho off road package....the shocks would even bottom out when my truck (4X2) wont...ride was WAY stiffer and uncomfortable...so unless ur practically gettin them free go for another shock...
like previously mentioned...Ive heard great things bout the billsteins...plan on gettin some myself (if not a whole lift package [4-6in])

Easily a one man job. You don't need to jack the rear axle though, just make sure your p-brake is on and your tires are blocked. Just remove the bolts and replace the shock, easier than changing a tire. I got the Bilstein 5100s from PRG and they're great! They go for $190 a pair and will be perfect if you decide to lift your Titan.
I put the Blistein's on from PRG, love 'em! I have one arm and did it by myself, no problem.
Wow, you got 'er done with one arm? I MIGHT even be able to do this then.

300 is a great movie full of visual effects and graphics which made it different and much better.
Acting was great, director did a wonderful job and chose great actors, full of action, and it is based on a true story.
I went with the Donohoe Racing Rear shocks. Great ride when compared with the original ones.
Check out the Donohoes. Best person to ask is Greg @ PRG. He'll definitely steer you to the best setup for your tastes and requirements.

OEM Rancho's = Crap shock painted white with a Rancho shock
Aftermarket Rancho's = A decent off-road shock.
But, I just got my PRG Shock kit. Sway-A-Way's with Total Chaos front Upper Control Arms. Donahoe Racing Rear shocks and Air bags.
