Anyone have these on or have detailed installation instructions??
I was JUST going to start a thread about these on POOR Rancho's support is.
I got mine tuesday and put them in Tuesdy night.....the instructions were generic and poor at best so I called Rancho to clarify a few things....
I asked Tech Support how much to adjust the threaded color and how it corelates the amount of lift. He said it was one to one! I asked him if he was SURE? He said yup.....you are moving the coil up the shock and it is a one to one ratio....I inch higher measured from the shock bolt to the bottom of the coil retainer whould lift the front 1"
Tuesday night we started the install. I measured the factory shocks and they were 4.5" from the shock bolt to the bottom of the coil. So I adjusted the Ranchos to 6.5" and it was an absolute pain the A** to get them in....lots of prying and he told me these would just bolt in!!!!!
So anyway we measured the arch before @ 36". Lowered the vehicle and we had 40.25"!!!!!! 4 inches of lift!!!!!
Took them back out and lowered to 5.5" from shock bolt....NOW they bolted right in.......powered vehicle and now had 38" which was our target.
The ride is very nice....much better than stock. Just DO NOT listen to their hairbrained "non technical" people for the install.
Common sense indicated to me that this was really no different than adding a uerathane biscuit and I knew it only takes an inch to get 2 so why I listened in the first place is beyond me...!!!!!
Wish I would have talked to you sooner. Rancho Tech sucks! They don't know ****. I measured mine 1 3/4" which is what I wanted and I got 2 1/2" which in turn lowered the rear by 3/4"? Now my front is higher and I have to redo. Are you sure you measured exactly 1" increase and got 2" in lift? Do you have 4x4?

I have a 4x4 and yes I am sure......I measured plenty of times and thankfully only had to redo once......
I added one inch to the chock bottom and got 2" lift....
You have to take them out to adjust them.......
A) no spanner wrench
B) WAY to much binding between the coil retainer and the ring
If you make good measurements and keep in mind it is a 2 to 1 ratio (or very close to it) you are fine adjusting outside and installing. The problem I had is how STUPID Rancho's tech line was to tell me it was a 1 to 1 ratio......
seems we have 2 people that have installed these but measurements are not the same as each other pertaing to lift versus spring commpression....any way to clarify this before i put mine on?
how much should you turn the threaded colar to achieve 2 inches of lift?? 1 inch? 1 1/2 inches ???????help....??

Measure the spring ont he stock coilovers and also the extended lenght of the new vs. stock shock. If you want 2" more ride height, compress the spring about 1.25" shorter than stock. stock should be about 2" of preload, the new set-up should have about 3.25" total.
For those interested I spoke with Brian at Ranch tech support. If you call ask for him and don't even start a conversation with any other dumbass(woman) who answers the phone. The amount of lift is equal to 66% so if you measure the difference between stock and new unit and divide by .66 you get amount of lift: 1 1/4 " devided by .66 = 1.89 or a little over 1 7/8" of lift. Also if you go over 2" you start to shift the weight to the rear which will lower the rear. In my case I went 2 1/2" and it lowered the rear 3/4" which made the front higher than the rear by 1/2". Hope this helps everyone.
