I believe they are the same as the Daystar level kits that are known for killing the OEM shocks. Here's a link to one of many threads that complain about this type of design. BTW the PRG design doesn't add this type of pre-load so doesn't have any of the bad side affects, and is much easier to install.

I have it (it was a gift) and it was simple to install and I havent had any problems with it at all. The directions that come with it are pretty much right on just takes a few tricks that you will figure out as you go. Dont worry about a spring compressor because it wont help on this. Get 2 jacks, one to support the truck and the other to help compress the spring.
