As many of you know I was invited to go to a club day at willow springs raceway with Greg Vogel from Mossy Nissan. We towed his race-prepped Sentra from murrieta to willow (about 2 hours each way) unhooked the trailer and ran the truck. Greg drove (he has much more time on the track on 4 wheels than I do and is a really, really good driver and we were there to test the truck not my driving ability) and after about 15 laps was able to run a 1:53 lap. The truck was very stable and the only issue was we were getting the inside rear tire to lift a bit under hard acceleration through some of the turns. To compare to other vehicles out there, we passed many WRX and miata's (only becasue they were inexperianced) but it was great. The truck was very neutral and exibited no over or understeer and the Stillen brakes did great. we were able to go through turn 2 at over 75mph and turn 8 at about 100mph. There was a very experianced racer out there in a rental monte carlo and it took everything he had, and most of the afternoon to finally run a .4 sec faster lap than greg did in the titan. He later came up to me and told me about it so it told him to hook up the trailer and then we'll see who's faster. On a side note, Greg grenaded the turbo motor in his sentra ( well over 300 hp) and that ruined his day, but what a rush that little car was when it was running (1:41 sec laps). I will have more pics soon, as i was in the truck when it was on the track, but here are two from thursday. Oh, here's the combo we ended up running, Fox 2.0 coilover with custom vavling/pistons in front shocks and 800lb/in eibach springs, stillen 14" rotors, total chaos upper a-arm, rear 2" lowered deaver spring, total chaos shackle, prg street traction bars, stock rear rotors with super cheap pads form star auto parts, 2.0 fox rear shocks. no sway bars as we lost traction with them, but i will still run a rear one on the street.
