Re: best liftkit company??

Depends on the application and what you want to do with the truck. All the currently availbel kits are good, but some restrict wheel travel, some require more cutting/welding than others, etc. Is it 2 or 4wd? how big a tire do you want to run and more.

Re: best liftkit company??

CST on the 2wd is a great kit if you only want to roll 33's. I wanted to go larger. When i first got my kit i went with 35's and it rubbed bad. I had the daystar 2.5 spacer and rancho shocks installed (and yes i did need the shock bucket cut) along with the reaf leaf spring upgrade. Now its all good.

Re: best liftkit company??

THe CST 2wd kit will easily clear 35's on the proper wheel. The wrong wheel and any kit can have clearance issues on 35's.

Don't get wrong. I love the CST kit. Even before i bought the kit i called CST and told them what my wheel set up would be and they said no matter what set up 35's will rub. They told me that the kit was designed for 315/70/17. I guess that is a bit biger then a 33. Anyway i love the kit.

Re: best liftkit company??

Here is my truck on 35's with no rubbing and is just a coilover and spindal. This set-up is about 2" lower in front and rear than the CST kit.

The base kit does not come with coilovers. The base kit still uses the factory shock. That is were the rubbing comes in. As i stated i got the information from CST. It's not like i am speaking from my $%^.

315/70/17 is a 35" tire.

Wrong the corrected size is 34.36 but that tire does not exists. To get close to the size of 35 would be a 325/70/17.

Like i said i am not talking out my rear. I have done the home work.

If you had done your homework, then you would know that PRG knows what he is talking about. You would know that BFG sells their AT in a 315/70-17 and several people on the forums are running that 34" tire. You would also know that the coilover itself (factory or not) has nothing to do with the clearance of the tire. That has to do with the shape of the wheel well, the tire size, the wheel dimensions and the amount of lift.

My recommendation is to listen to PRG, not some know nothing sales person.

Re: best liftkit company??

Having a coilover will not change the tire clearance by itself. I have personnally installed about 50 more CST kits than anyone at CST. You can easily clear 35's if using the proper wheel. Keep in mind that all tires are not created equal, nitto and toyo tires are larger than all others with procomp being a bit larger than bfg/goodyear or others. The point being that 315/70-17 or a 35/12.5-17 will nearly fit on a stock height truck with the proper offset, they will certainly fit on a truck with 7-8" of lift. I do it all the time.

Re: best liftkit company??

I guess I now need to call my freinds with CST kits and 35s that work and tell them to take the tires off because some intarweb guy did his homework and says they wont fit.
