Thumping noise, Need ideas
Originally developed a thunk or bumping noise that I can feel thru the floor board upon breaking and taking off, It will also do it on bumps or around corners without breaking. I had a blown strut so it was my assumtion that was the problem. Well in goes the DR coilovers and the Bilstein's. The ride is much better but the noise is still there. It sure feels and sounds like the front suspenshion to me, I have few suggestions other than maybe the slip yoke on the drive shaft needing grease. Any knowledgable suggestions would be appreciated.

If you have the utili package its probably the floor covers on the tracks moveing and hitting the tailgate when you take off.

No I really do not have any extras on this truck, It seems it has to be in the suspenshion being it transmits thru the floor board veary distintivly, Sometimes multiple thumps one right after the other.
Greg if you have any ideas please chime in, I need to get this resolved soon for peace of mind if nothing else. Thanks KT

I have the same problem after a weekend of 4 wheeling. I have been crawling all around and cant seem to find it either. When I hit bumps you can feel it in the floorboard like something is shakeing. It will drive me crazy until I find it. Any suggestions??

This sounds kinda like what ive had from day one. But I think mine is just the loud suspension. hwo do you tell if a shock is blown or not?

My passenger side wheel well liner was bumping against the frame. put a piece of rubber in between and a few screws and it quit the thumping noise.

I have not noticed any oil on the strut but then again it was covered in mud and I washed it off at the car wash. Mine seems to do it bad over washboard type bumps. IT IS DRIVING ME CRAZY.

take out the drop hitch if you have one check exhaust brackets check your cab bolts body to frame ya may have one loose if not hang a hammock under the truck and have the wife drive over some speed bumps bingo!!!

About two months ago I had a clunk from the right front whenever I turned sharply either left or right. Dealer did an adjustment to the RF shock tower, and it was fine for a few weeks. Now it is back with a vengence. I now have a serious clunk at braking, take-off and turning that can't be pinpointed. Dealer has ordered an entire new front susupension after working on it for hours with no success.

check your body mounts mine were loose form the dealer

Under mine today and discovered a bolt on the transmission mount 3/4 out, also transfer case leaking at two bolts.
