Remove front sway bar on lifted Titan, Yes or NO?

I guys, I have a rancho lifted titan, and the front sway bar endlinks keep giving me trouble and bolts keep falling off and making weird noises...

What are the pros and cons of removing the sway bar vs keeping it?

THX in advance..

Re: Remove front sway bar on lifted Titan, Yes or NO?

I have Greg's 4" kit and love the way it handles without the sway bars. The Rancho is a lot taller so the increased center of gravity may make it to unstable without bars. What are you running for coilovers?

Re: Remove front sway bar on lifted Titan, Yes or NO?

THe biggest difference is that Mustard is running a higher spring rate and will have less sway than k-mu. But k-mu, the ride will be better w/o the sway bar but you will notice the truck will lean a bit more in the corners, but it wont be bad. Its free to try and i assure you that nothing terrible will happen. Just remove the endlinks and give it a drive.

Re: Remove front sway bar on lifted Titan, Yes or NO?

Ive driven the truck without one of the endlinks on and didnt notice anything bad in handling, would it be the same without both endlinks?

should I completely remove the swaybar or just the endlinks and keep the sway bar floating around?

How would the removal of the swaybar improve the offroad handling?

THX in advance

Re: Remove front sway bar on lifted Titan, Yes or NO?

I pulled mine off. I only notice it when I lapse back into my autocross days.

Like Greg said - it's free to try. Do it, and if your truck leans too much in the corners for your liking, undo it.

Having one link undone is the same as both. What you felt is the same as removing the whole assembly.

Re: Remove front sway bar on lifted Titan, Yes or NO?

I used to forget to reconnect the links on my Toyota after a day of wheelin' and never notices a difference. I know the Titan is a different truck but I doubt you'll notice.

By disconnecting it you get better articulation when offroad. I say go for it.

Re: Remove front sway bar on lifted Titan, Yes or NO?

I don't know about won't notice. The day after my sway bar was off I took an off ramp to fast and about scared the.... well you know out of me. Once I regrouped my thoughts it was OK just different than what I am use to. It leaned more than usual but once it went so far it was solid. But like I said before, pot holes and big bumps you hit at an angle are so much better.

It's been well over a week now with sway bar removed and I like it much better without the bar.

Re: Remove front sway bar on lifted Titan, Yes or NO?

I disconected mine. Significantly more body roll but lots more sterring. I do get more inside tire lift on the rear when cornering hard but otherwise I like it.

Re: Remove front sway bar on lifted Titan, Yes or NO?

KMU ,
Did you completely remove the sway bar or just remove the endlinks and leave the sway bar floating. I completely removed the sway bar today and my initial impression is that I like it a lot. Much smoother over small bumps and my steering feels easier. Any how just wondering if I should have not removed the entire sway bar for any reason. Please chime in PRG if you are reading..

Re: Remove front sway bar on lifted Titan, Yes or NO?

Having the endlinks off would be the same as having the bar off completely. All it's doing w/o the endlinks hooked up is adding dead weight

So yeah, you're fine w/ it off.

I too am running without the sway bar...I seem to do just fine and from what Greg says the ride is better! Dead weight is my opinion also.
