Those w/ lifts how are you jacking up your truck?

I've seen several high lift jacks on the market are you guys carrying these around all the time? I'm assuming w/ bigger lifts the stock scissor jack isn't gonna cut it LOL

Also do all of the high lift jacks jack the truck up from the bumper? Will this work w/ the stock bumper? I'm not so much worried about using a jack to aide in getting unstuck as I am about getting the truck off the ground to change a flat or work on it.

Still new to the lifting stuff sorry if these are dumb questions

Re: Those w/ lifts how are you jacking up your truck?

I have a tire attachment for my hi-lift jack for when I get stuck. You can use the tire attachment to lift the truck then slide a jack stand under the frame rail to change a tire. I'm not lifted very much so the stock jack still works for changing tires.... When I'm in a garage, I use a floor jack.

Re: Those w/ lifts how are you jacking up your truck?

i was wondering how everyone was jacking up their trucks with lifts. no one really ever answered the question before i had my lift done. i was researching this today and saw this online. it is a hi-lift jack accessory. it is called the lift mate and hooks to your rim. it has rubber on the hooks, so it won't mess up the finish on your rim. i think i may give it a try. i really don't want to get stuck on the side of the road b/c of a flat.

Re: Those w/ lifts how are you jacking up your truck?

you would still need a jack stand to let the frame rest on after you have lifted the wheel. the problem with lifted trucks is finding a way to actually jack the truck up. most jacks will not, or barely reach the frame of the truck.

My scissor jack still works in a pinch if I need it. I just lift from the rear axle or the front crossmember instead of the frame.

That's exactly what I mentioned and occasionally use. And yes, carry a few jack stands with you to place under the frame to change a flat.

Re: Those w/ lifts how are you jacking up your truck?

You can still use your oem jack even with a suspension lift, because rancho, pro comp, fabtech, all of them provide drop down brackets(the ones that come with the logos of the manufacturers) where you can use your oem jack...
