Rear lift recomendations?

I decided that I want to use the 4" lift spindles and Greg's front spacers (2WD) for the front for a 6" lift. But I don't know how I want the back set up. I'm not real big on the idea of blocks, but I am still open to them. Any suggestions for a cheap and reliable rear suspension set up? I want to keep as much of a stock ride quality as possible and I want the truck to be level. I am not going to do much if any off roading. I want to run 35's. I do tow an 18 foot bass boat every week but it is light weight.

Re: Rear lift recomendations?

Some are planning on going with the 2" PRG/Deaver overload spring upgrade with his 1.5" blocks. Since you're adding a level kit too, you might want to have PRG make you a custom 1" level kit for the front, so you don't have to go too high on blocks in the rear to compensate.

Here's a link to a post by PRG with more info. http://www.titantalk.com/forums/486075-post1.html

Thanks for the tip! I went on the Deaver web site and found that they make a 4" leaf spring pack. I won't have to use any blocks. Now I just have to find a price and a dealer. hmmm... I'll have to get a hold of Greg.

Every kit that I see comes with blocks. But isn't there a cheap alternative to a 2" block? Like lift shackles or something like that (if they exist)? The stuff doesn't have to be all Greg's.
Yeah the 2" mini-pak is too new to be on their website. Call Greg at the number on their site for the info. on whats is best for your plans and budget.

BTW, I just saw where on at least some of the Titans the 2" mini-pak is giving more like 3".

I personally won't buy anything that isn't sold or recommended by Greg. I've seen too many cases where people buy something else, like other brands of level kits, or coil-overs, and later are whinning or trying to sell them. Installion cost - or time, could definitely hurt.

Re: Rear lift recomendations?

I just found that Stillen sells the 4" Deaver kit and it is $699. I think that I like your plan better since I won't be doing much if any off roading and it is half the price. I am going to stick with Greg's stuff for sure, after all I have read I would be ignorant not to.

Re: Rear lift recomendations?

Sounds like that might be a full rear leaf spring replacement, instead of the mini-pak. I seem to remember it was said, here, that the full Deaver sets are very firm for daily use. Maybe more for a dedicated full-time off road race truck.

If one is lifting really high the full Deaver sets might be the way to go though. Higher you go the more everything costs, including the tires to go with it. [For example on my truck just getting an additional 1" w/o cranking my coil-overs out of their optimal 2" lift setting, will cost me over $1000 with installation, (and then my 33" tires might look to small)].

Also, when you get the rear up, the axle wrap becomes significant so the PRG traction bars are almost a requirement. Just noticed they aren't in my planned mod list - wtf???

that's what I happened to me but for 4wd it was less.

Greg's Deavers spring pack replaces the bottom leaves only vs. the full spring packs you've been seeing on web. He had these custom made as is many of his other products.

Re: Rear lift recomendations?

Ill go over what is available a bit here. Deaver makes springs for themselves and custom springs for alot of others (DRE, PRG, etc). They make a 4" (actually closer to 5") and its a full spring pack, very nice but expensive and the ride is more suited to aggressive off-roading with a couple spares and some weight out back. We offer 2 different "mini" packs the 1" (which is actually closer to 1.25 on most trucks or 1.5" on the or titans) and the 2" which is actually closer to 3". I will change the names of these packs on our new site so it wont be as confusing. The mini packs sell for $199 and keep your stock 3 main leaves and replace the overload leaf. I also sell the full 4" pack too.

Thanks! Sounds like I'll go with the 2" leaf pack with a 1" block. I'll definately talk to you first. I won't be doing this for a while. It will be awesome when your new site is up and running.

Re: Rear lift recomendations?

bassn8tor, just got mine lifted and in the rear i had Greg install the aforementioned 2.5" deavers and a 1" block. aside from the rear end sitting close to 4"s higher in the rear, the improved feel of the bilstein/deaver setup feels MUCH better than stock. the rear is firmed up and the improved dampening of the bilsteins put a smile on my face, quick-like!

Sounds great. I need to get some extra cash together so I can do this!

Re: Rear lift recomendations?

Does any one know if I can run my stock 18's and stock tires on this set up (4" spindles, front level kit, Deaver, and blocks) for a while or will there be a lot of rubbing? P.S. I know it will look ugly.
