Re: T/C Maintenance? (ANSWER FROM T/C)

here is the reply to my question direct from Total Chaos Fab. -

" Thank you for your inquiry with Total Chaos Fabrication Inc. The 1" ID uniball that came in your Upper Control Arm has a PTFE (Teflon) liner that separates the inner ball from the outer race. As per the uniball's manufacturer, these do not require any additional lubrication. For proper maintenance, they simply need to be washed and rinsed to prevent dirt and grime from accumulating on the surface. Debris that is allowed to cake up on the outer surface of the ball may be forced into the liner when the ball is articulated. This can lead to excessive wear and tear on the uniball and shorten it's lifespan. More frequent maintenance may be required for vehicles which are parked in the salty air near the beach or driven on roads that have been salted for snow. Basically, the cleaner that you keep them, the longer they will last. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at the shop. "
