I am getting a lift need advice

I am going to get the 7" CST lift put on my truck and need a bit of advice. What does it come with stock and what are some good add ons? What is a coilover? Do I need them? What is the best shock to put on with the kit? What tires are good overall performance A/T tires, mud tires and winter tires to put on and what are some good rims and sizes for each I should look at? Also, can I have an add a leaf? I carry on a normal basis (roughly 75% of the time) about 1200 lbs in the box. I would like to maintain as close to factory ride as possible with the advantage of the height and clearance because most of my work is in the bush. Any help would be appreciated as I do not want to sound like an idiot or get taken advantage of at the Dealer that is doing the install.

Re: I am getting a lift need advice

There is a suspension section on these forums...it'd be a good idea to read through a lot of the posts...

I don't think anybody will sum up everything there is to know about lifting a titan for ya :P

then again you might get lucky.

You should take a look at the stuff at titanspecialist.com....it is all top quality stuff.

I just ordered mine yesterday. From what I understand, It comes with everything you need to live the truck with the exception of the shocks.

Coilovers are shocks with springs over them. Look at your front shock. Thats a coilover and yes you need them. If you are going to lift your truck, you need to buy them as the stock ones arent long enough to accomodate the added height. For shocks, I went with the RadFlo coilovers with reservoir. I was informed that they were designed especially for the Titan. I also went with the RadFlo rear shocks with reservoir for the same reason.

I havent bought my tires yet. It's a toss up between Toyo or Procomp M/T's. For the wheels I went with 18x9 cause I also got the Stillen brake kit.

I also got the deaver 1.5 mini pack. According to Greg @ PRG the ride is a little more softer than the 2.5. I am not too sure about the load though.

I think the best thing to do is give Greg a call at PRG Products and get the info straight from him .

Heres everything I ordered from PRG for my lift.

CST 7" Lift
RadFLo Coilovers
RadFlo Rear shocks
Deaver 1.5 mini pack
Rear Traction Bars
Total Chaos Upper Arms
Stillen Brake Kit

Yo can use the factory coilovers in front with the CST kit if you use the supplied spacers CST sends with the kit, you only need to buy rears. It all depends on what you want to spend, and the shock quality you are after.
