Rear axles used to be made of forged steel, now they're cast like everything else, and are alot lighter and weaker. From the damage I see in the pic, she had to be going at a good speed. I would replace it with an after-market axle if I were you. My .02

I know there is an after market rear diff for the Titan, and I was looking for the thread, but can't seem to find it. Maybe someone else could find it, or ask one of the mods. I think bestatchess knows something about them.
Greg was tossing around the idea of beefed up rear axles...
Give him a call.

If the shaft are bent the housing probably is too. You will likley need a new one. Get a check from the insurance and change it out for a 9 inch from PRG.

I would wait till the tone rings are figuared out on a 9 incher. His truck looks like a daily driver, and ABS is a must for most poeple.. myself included... thats why I'm waiting till Greg get's his to work right first

Will the bodyshop notice the housing is bent or must I find out after I drive it off the lot like I did with the axle?
Your profile says that you have a 4x4. Before you go after an aftermarket rear diff, you need to make sure that you can match the rear axle ratio with the front diff ratio. I don't know if PRG's 9" does that or not.
Damn those dodge owners taking cheap shots with Jeeps! Sorry man.
On a side note if you have the Utilitrac I heard you'll have to order the whole bed from factory. This repair could take some time. Go with the Nissan axles for now. Hopefully the frame is not bent.

Yea, takes a long time to get parts for a Titan. It has been almost 5 weeks for the repair.
Got a new bed, had to get the spray liner put in.
Makes me mad, while they were waiting for the body panels they could have fixed the axles then.
Take it to a frame alignment shop, they will be able to easily straighten out the housings, and then just replace the axles. I had to replace one of my axle's, I ordered one online for like $250, installed it myself, and had my frame guy straighten the housing. This will be just as good as new for you as long as you avoid major offroading.
