I bought my truck with 42k miles and quickly realized the factory Tokicos were absolutely hammered. The right front had puked it's oil everywhere and had wicked wheel tramp over bumps on the Sierra highways. I didn't even want to think about hooking up the travel trailer for our maiden voyage with the Titan. So I joined and perused the site for awhile, and decided I needed the PRG performance package. Then reality set in, with a mortgage and our first born on the way, spending money on lift/wheels/tires doesn't seem as important as it did 10 years ago. Something had do be done though. The rear was easy, Bilsteins from Greg. I definitely wanted to level it, but I needed shocks too. With the Bilstein fronts in seemingly perpetual development, the only options seemed to be Tenneco (Rancho/Monroe) and KYB. I decided to try the Triple-Xs. They seemed to be a good value at $300, $900 less than DR/Fox/SAWs. I installed them myself, paying Les Schwab $40 to swap the coils. I wanted to avoid any issues, so I aimed for 1 3/4 inches of lift and ended up with about 1 5/8. I initially thought the adjustable valving was gimmicky, but each click does provide a noticeable difference, I just leave it on 9. I am pleased with the set up so far, I just need to install air bags to help with rear squat when loaded/towing. I am just wondering if anyone else has them. Also, did I lose wheel travel by lifting with spring preload instead of using Greg's spacer?

I see no one replied to this. I too am interested in the triple X setup. I just saw a Titan at 4Wheel parts and it was lifted about 2 to 2.5 inches in front with nothing added to the rear. It looked great.
I have a few miles on them now, and I am still happy with them. My truck is on the street 95% of the time, with 4wd being used only for snowy highways and the occasional slow speed trail use. I think they are a good option for replacing worn out stockers while achieving lift without the added expense of the spacer. I think they may wear out in about 30K miles, but that is about 3 years for me. I don't seem to keep vehicles much longer than 3 or 4 years anyway. Fresh off the jackstands it sat 2 inches higher than stock. They settled to 1 5/8 after the first drive, and the only time I've heard the a-arm hitting the bucket was backing out of the driveway for the initial drive.

I've been eyeing that same setup. however I must ask if that will work with the six inch ProComp lift, front spacer anyways... I was thinking it should, but am going to check before I commit... I do agree that this is a good looking / sounding setup for the price, hopefully it is a decent ride, I do about 50/50 on and off-road...

1. Did you do anything to raise the rear or did you just level it out?
2. Why do you think they will wear out in about 30K? Do you mean the Triple X's?
I didn't do anything to the rear except install the Bilsteins. There is still about an inch of rake, and I don't think I want the 1 inch blocks now. The picture is a little deceiving because the driveway slope changes at the joint under the middle of the truck, but I like the way it looks now. I am definitely going to add air bags for the squat under load. I'm liking the Ride-Rite bags with the no drill install. Seems the only advantage to the Ail-Lift bags is the compatability with a lift, and I just don't see a lift in the foreseeable future.
My stock shocks were gone at 40K miles, and my past experience has been that shocks just don't last much longer than that. Plus, the general consensus on the board is that Ranchos suck. I just couldn't keep driving the truck as it was and even the radflos cost twice as much. I will be satisfied if they make it to 30K.
