?those With Fox Shox

for those with the fox coilovers for lifted titans, how are they holding up? have you switched to another brand or are you pleased with them still?

i have the PC coilovers and still working fine but desire an upgrade. they seem to be affected by the weight of the new front bumper. i have a set of resv fox's for the rear that have been sitting in the garage.

thanks for your input

Re: ?those With Fox Shox

I've had about 3k miles on mine and they've held up fine. After first installing them they settled pretty good so they had to be readjusted. Since then they have stayed. Not sure if all the coilovers are this way. Have had to replace the studs that come with them to grade 8 bolts. The studs kept snapping. I was almost thinking of switching to the radflo's but not sure if the difference is great enough. They seem to rebound kind of hard when going over speed bumps at slow speeds. Don't know if the TC uppers would help with that. Highway driving is smooth. Have been wheeling (at low speeds) with them and didn't have problems. But desert running have not done. Hope this helps.

Re: ?those With Fox Shox

I didn't have the PC coils. I have the stage 1 kit. On steep speed bumps they come down hard and I'm not flying over them, just bearly going fast enough to get over them. That's the only time they do that though. That's why I was wondering if the TC uppers would help fix that.

Re: ?those With Fox Shox

Just leave a reply without a short, smarta$$ answer. Every thread I read with a comment by you is smart and short. Gets on my nerves. The thread reads "? those with Fox Shox", not "what coilover do you recommend?". NOW, you are pretty knowledgable about suspension, so help out a long time member with some nice insight. Give 'er a shot....for the record I purchased the radflo's because greg said they were better for lifted trucks. Before the radflos, he always highly recommended the Fox coilovers.

Re: ?those With Fox Shox

You should shoot ptgarcia a pm, he ran them for a quite a while when he had his Titan. There's also a guy over on CT that has had them for a while, can't remember the username.

Just wondering, how come you aren't considering the Radflos first?

Re: ?those With Fox Shox

Yes Radflo is the manufacturer. They are a newer company in the US but have been making off road race shocks overseas for years. They are basically setting a new standard for of road shocks. Better designs, materials and service. I am switching out the SAWs on my titan to RF and will run all RF on my race truck.

They make a custom shock for PRG to work with lift kit trucks and will make the PC shocks look like toys.

Re: ?those With Fox Shox

The Fox shocks are emulsion shocks as well I believe, which is always inferior to having a remote, or internal bladder. I would never buy anything emulsion......regardless of the name stamped on the side. The RadFlo's are the best shock available at this time to my knowledge, and are priced nearly the same as the Fox shocks.

Re: ?those With Fox Shox

They are made by Radflo for dimensions and valving that i spec'd. the reason was that i wasnt getting the performance/longevity from the other shocks that were currently available and wanted more from some of the others. The fox's are a great upgrade and there is nothing "wrong" with them though. but these shocks use a much better and longer coil than the Fox, have a external res., have better valving and a stronger upper mount. They are not cheap but simply the best bolt-on coilover for the raised titans. For those who may not be familiar, i have a pretty deep background in desert racing and specifically, shock tuning. I am super-critical of suspension performance and want to offer only the best performing parts.

as for those with the "clunk" from your coilovers, that is most likely the coilover itself.
