well just got the truck back yesterday after getting the 6" pro comp lift 35's and some rims. sorry no pics yet but should have some pretty good before and after's for anyone interested in seeing the difference.
heres the bad part. wife hates it! she loves the look of it, but she loved the stock cadillac smoothness to the truck before hand. now says she feels every bump in the road, which is kinda true. i think the truck drives really well considering the lift and all. i can tell gas is already going to be different but knew that ahead of time.
not that this is what i plan on doing but to get an idea has anyone ever taken a lift off? and if so do you get the stock ride back or are things going to be different from now on anyways? or maybe anyway to make the pro comp lift ride softer like the stock ride?
i really thought she would like it much more than she does so far and if this keeps up in my mind i'd rather not have it become an issue between the 2 of us, although she says it is my truck i just want her to enjoy driving it as well. we do have a family and all.
happy wife happy life right....lol i just love her very much and want her to be just as happy with our new investment as myself.
I am in exactly the same situation. Wife hates driving the truck. I have the same kit, and even though my wife is 5'10" she does not like getting in or out of it. Adding steps helped quite a bit, though. She has softened quite a bit since I installed it in July, and overall she is still happy we have the truck, as long as she doesn't have to drive it. So now I am going to have to buy her another car to keep her happy... The ride on mine seems rougher too. I am planning to upgrade to the Radflo's in the near future. From what I have read, the stock shocks wear out very quickly even under stock conditions. Good luck...
Is the Titan the "family car" or is there something else to drive when they're with you? And how often is the family in a vehicle together?
If there is something esle to drive, I would suggest keeping the lift on the Titan and driving the other vehicle when you need to. This will help in gas too!! That's assuming your other vehicle isn't a raised 4X4 too...
If the Titan is the family ride, you have to wonder how easily the kid(s) can get in and out and as you mentioned, the wife factor. If she's hating it, you may be up for a reminder each time you pull out of the driveway and that can get old pretty quick. I had a similar experience when I had a lowered sports car. I held to my guns and it eventaully ended. She's pretty cool when it comes to my vehicles.
And what about enhancing your current set up to smooth out the ride OR compromise with a smaller lift? I know the tires you just purchased will probably make that decision, but something to consider if you can. He!!, maybe a soft seat cushion will make her happy!!!
That's my .02. It sounds like you have your family in the right spot of the priority chain, but either way, someone is going to have to take the hit. Good luck!

I'm not an expert on the subject, but I do have a Rancho 4" lift on my truck that has actually been adjusted to give me 6" of lift.
It wasn't cheap, but I ordered new suspension components from Greg at PRG and I love it. It was really the only way I was even able to lift my truck. I convinced my wife that by lifting my truck I would be able to improve the ride which she said was to rough (refering to the stock ride/height).
I would say my truck rides 10 times better than stock with my current set-up. My wife even loves the ride now and doesn't complain when we take my truck. She drive a QX56 and thinks the rides are comparable.
Look in my signature for more info...
Hope this helps.

her father and i are currently putting a new motor in a 99 izusu trooper that we figured would be the more daily driver anyway. but i also have a 95 wrangler with a 5" lift/winch and all kinds of other goodies, which she let me pick up new tires and seats for while dropping off the truck . so thats the other thing, if she lets me have that and do whatever i want to it it's almost like wtf am i even messing with the truck for. but god DAMN it looks so tight all lifted up....lol
i just wonder if i did take the lift off and put it all back to the way it was if it would ride the same as it did BEFORE the lift. i don't know why it wouldn't but you never know.
I know it means spending more money, but if you add a set of quality coilovers the ride will improve. Give Greg a call and tell him what you're looking for and he'll be able to help you out. Good luck!

thanks guys.
If you return everything to stock, then it will ride like stock. but you won't be able to return everything completely to stock without some fabrication and welding. if you got the cash, finish the job and upgrade your suspension like TCW suggested, it will definitely be worth it. If you're still unsure, call Greg at prgproducts.com and ask his opinion...he's our Titan suspension expert.
Edit: Well I took too long to type, but the 2 above me said the same thing, so now you have 3 that agree

seriously? damn i put the lift on my jeep myself and work on it but with the titan i had it done didn't realize i couldn't go back that easy.
i do only have the stage 1 procomp so no coil over's. i'll be sure to give greg a call in the near future see what his thoughts are.
PrerunnerGreg It should ride nearly like stock. Imguessing that the tires are what she's feeling as different. What tires do you have on it now?
the tires are **** Cepek Fun Country II's, i like the look of em.
after driving it more (the both of us) i feel it in the tires and i think there just harder than the stock ones but she is liking it much more these days. she even said why were you thinking of taking the lift off leave it be i love the way it looks...lol so we're gonna run it as is for now. taking it back in in 1000 miles to get readjusted.
only problems i'm feeling right now is the steering wheel isn't straight, and it pulls to the right, feels to me like the front left tire is out of balance slightly as well. and i'm getting some tire rub if i turn it as hard as i can. can't bring myself to cutting yet....lol
i appreciate everyones feedback! nice group of peps in here, specially you greg you seem to be Mr. Titan for sure. thanks!
tried getting pic's up but don't have enough posts yet, i'll try later.
