McGaughy's 2/3" suspension kit write up

Well I bought this kit online 2 weeks ago and it arrived this monday, didnt start to put it in till today, and let's just say after 3 hrs of fighting the rear end it's still on fu#$ing jackstands!! I'm pretty ticked off this company would do something so stupid as not include new damn u-bolts with thier drop kit that would work with this setup.. the u-bolts on the titan are little to small width wise so you have to pound them on with a hammer, then bend them back so the bolt will line up with the bracket it mounts to under the axle.. next problem we found was the damn u-bolts threads aren't threaded high enough to fully seat, now im really furious, cause this shows this stupid company obviously didnt even look at a titan when making this kit.. So me and my friend spent the next 21/2 hrs driving all over looking for a 14mm tap and die kit which no one makes, so joy I get to find a machine shop tommrow to make the threads go up atleast 1-2" higher on the stock u-bolts.. might not sound like such a bigdeal but for 485.00 it should come COMPLETE!! I'm going to write them a letter tommrow and let them hear about thier kit for sure.. I just hope it rides better than thier development is .. Hopefully tommrow i can get the front springs in without too much trouble unless knowing my luck they made the springs the wrong dimension and won't sit in the spring bucket thing, lol wouldnt suprise me seeing as how the most important thing on the rear doesnt work..

Re: McGaughy's 2/3" suspension kit write up

I called the McGaughy place and supposedly they "claim" they ship thier kits with u-bolts but the guy who i got it from didnt send me u-bolts so im trying to get someone to be responsible for this cause it's really ticking me off, no one wants to take the blame either mcgaughy or streetbeat, so i'm left with a half finshed truck atm, and no telling when someone will do something, hopefully my friend can make these ones i bought work cause i dont have extra money to blow i just paid my truck note and now im broke, lol

Re: McGaughy's 2/3" suspension kit write up

Well yesterday I searched everywhere in town and finally found a front end and frame shop that custom makes u-bolts so i told them the size i needed and needed threads going up 5-6" just to be certain i'd have enough threads, still had a problem with the u-bolts fitting into the plate holes under the axle so i had to use channel locks to squeeze them together and a hammer to pound the plate onto them since it was such a tight fit.. I'd really like to at the idiot that didnt ship me my u-bolts with this kit it turned a nice easy 2-3 hr job into a 10 hr one..

Re: McGaughy's 2/3" suspension kit write up

just finished my truck thank god the front went on smoothly took like 35 mins per side didnt even have to pull the tires off the front Well i will say it rides way way better than stock, not as floppy feeling, before it always felt like i was bouncing non stop and i hate that, i much whether have a firm ride with the occasional bump, than non stop bouncing like it was stock. Here are some before/after pics

Re: McGaughy's 2/3" suspension kit write up

The stock springs are 60mm wide (aprox 2.25"). Most cheby's use a 2.5" spring. The spring plates will accept a 2.5" u-bolt though, but its a pain to get the stock bolts over a 2.5" spring.
