Suspension Addition?

What is the next step towards smoothing out the ride in a 05 CC SE 4x4 with DR's set at 2.5 and 1" block in the rear? What would provide better performance the TC arms or the Deaver pack? The truck rides good but the occasional coil bucket clunk is annoying....then again so is the sideways action on washboard bumps.

If it were me, I would get the TC Upper arms. They are worth every cent. The deavers can wait as they provide somewhat of a better ride but with what you have I would go with the arms. G/L

If the objective is improving the ride, I think Deavers might be the way to go. There was a post that PRG will be coming out with his own upper arms. Another issue is whether to get NCD or TC arms.

I would get the Deavers. As I understand the TCs are not required with DRs and are unlikely to improve the ride. I am having the same issue with the truck's rearend dancing and getting sideways on washboards.

I have a 4x4 with DRs at 2" and have never had any coil bucket clunk. So an extra .5" gets you the clunking?

I do get the clunk at 2.5", more so with small bumps than large ones which does not make sense. Sucks up large potholes but clunks over small/medium ones. Thinking maybe I should go back to 2" and get the 1.5 dever pack and see what happens.

I would do Deavers and rear shocks before new arms.

i second that. having experienced what a good coilover can do (SAWs) my almost stock rear suspension now seems almost inadequate to what the front is capable of going through at speed.

Spring pack for sure. Even with the junk stock shocks it will make a big improvement. I ran my Megacab with the Deavers and stock shocks for a couple weeks and it was 100 times better than stock.

I have the Bilsteins already.....time to get the deavers. How hard is the install?

It's not too bad, but you need good jack stands and a good jack, some large c-clamps, and other basic hand tools. Air tools help but aren't mandatory. Follow Greg's directions and have a friend help you and you shouldn't have any problems.

I could do it alot faster if I did it again. Not that hard, but keeping the leaves properly aligned takes a little work. Some forged C-clamps (I used four C clamps) to clamp the leaves and a drift (punch?) to put into the center leaf alignment holes to maintain alignment are recommended. If you call PRG he could probably give you some tips.

IMHO you should also get TC shackles and factor the shackle drop into what ever spring pack you get, as the stock shackles suck.
