suspension sag?

has anybody else experience some suspension sag with the front leveling kits

when used off-road? because im pretty sure mine is, but i didnt measure it

before i realized this. but i do have a friend who has a spacer lift on a tacoma

and he says that he for sure has had some sag with the front end. any

suggestions? i dont want to go any taller than 4" but i dont want to spend a

fortune. any help would be great.

Re: suspension sag?

I think mine is sagging. I have the Stage 1 Procomp, which essentially is a 6" spacer on the stock coilover. When I first installed the lift, the front was higher than the rear by a bit. Now it's back down with somewhat of a raked look like stock, just not nearly as bad. I think it's just due to the front shocks getting broken in??? Anyone else's thoughts on this?

I'm thinking of buying the rear lowering shackles from Total Chaos to help out some. $150 is alot less than $1200 for new coilovers. We'll see what my tax return is like and decide then!!!!

Re: suspension sag?

shocks dont support weight springs do, and i cant see why it would sag any more than in stock form, if anything, there is less weight on the front with the level kit.... maybe im missing something

Re: suspension sag?

haha, im pretty sure i already have that. i love the way titans look 6" taller

than stock. but for me its just not practical. so a leveling kit pretty much

does it. and i dont want to spend the cash to get new coil overs just yet.

so i just need to find out of its just me or if it really does happen. agtain, any

help is greatly appreciated.

Re: suspension sag?

Here are a few things that can make it sit lower over time
1, urethane spacers will compress, figure that a daystar spacer will loose about 1/2" of its initial lift the first year.
2, alignment, if the tires wear wrong, especially on the inside, the extra leverage can force the truck to sit lower in front.
2b, if there is excessive toe-out, it will suck the front down while driving forward.
3, spring sag...it just happens. OEM and "lift" springs are made of junk metal and will often sag over time.
