Bilsteins too long for stock?

I purchased a set of Bilsteins from a board member that he said he purchased from PRG and fit 0-3" lifted titans. I just installed one on my stock 4x2 SE and it appears that the shock is too long for my truck. The part number on both shocks is F4-BE5-6249-H5. Can anyone confirm if these are the correct application for a stock height truck or tell me what the application is? With the truck at ride height the shock has about 1.5" left of compression and the bumpstop is 3.5" from the frame. I'm sure the shocks would be bottomed out with a load in the bed. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mitch

Way too long, those are for 4" lifted applications.

Sweet, Anybody need a set of these in good shape? Looks like the seller and I miscommunicated on the length. Neither of us caught it in out PM exchanges. In reading his old posts he got the shocks with his 6" lift.

Re: Bilsteins too long for stock?

I sold these to BroncoAz. I purchased these from Greg and installed them with my Fabtech kit which had a 1" add-a-leaf and a 2" block. Greg, I asked you when I ordered them if they would work with that kit since it said 0-3" on the website, but maybe I misunderstood YOU. Sorry AZ, I didnt mean to mislead you. I thought there was only ONE bilstein for the rear since there was only one on the site.

Bilstein 5100s are for stock height Titans, and Bilstein 5125s are for the lifted Titans IIRC.

Not true. The 5100 (blue and yellow shocks) are typically a replacement shock from bilstein. The 5125 series (zinc plated body) is a performance upgrade, but they come in many lengths and valvings. The 5125 shock you would need is the 6248 not 6249. These are about 4" different in overall lenght, but the same valving.
