with 24s, i would imagine you'd have to run at least a 40" tire...so 15" + 3" bodylift

problem now isn't how high to lift it, but if the tranny can sustain that kind of abuse to turn wheels w/a ton of unsprung weight through some thick mud....

Not to mention a 24" wheel will be exposed to all kinds of of damage potential - and not just to your ego when everybody is laughing at your truck.

Re: off road 24'' rims and mud tires suspention

A while back there was a tour vehicle for Papa Roach for sale on here. It had 9" of lift and ran at least 22s. It looked pretty insane. As far as really "off-roading" with that set up, I don't really know what to say. Good luck, post some pics if you get it done, I'd definitely like to see it.

Re: off road 24'' rims and mud tires suspention

Saw an article in Petersen's 4 wheel-offroad not to long ago doing a comparison of offroad ability on some 20's and 16's. The 20's had less off road ability due to more surface area for bending on rocks, less tire cushion, and not as much ability to be aired down.

I'm assuming your not really wanting to take some shiny 24" off road though, so more power to you. Post a pic when you get them.

For one, a 15" rim wouldn't even fit on a titan let alone a 16". And since you've obviously have money coming from daddy with little knowledge on how to do things right, I've got a brilliant idea. Why don't you throw some 26" dubs on there with some low profile tires and go offroading. And if something goes wrong, don't worry, you have all kinds of money to fix it.

There's a reason why the offroad package has a smaller rim size then your standard. Larger rims aren't meant to go offroading unless you've got quite a lift to compensate for the larger tire diameter.

Ignorance and stupidity usually go hand in hand, and congrats, you're not exception. Also, I love the way you spelt "suspention". Brilliant!!

Re: off road 24'' rims and mud tires suspention

Go for it... I would love to see it... You could do the lift that I have with a 3" body lift and clear those 38's easily...

Re: off road 24'' rims and mud tires suspention

Thats as poser, lame and retardedly disco as it gets. If you wanna run 24s sticks to street tires unless you are going to run 50 inch tires.
