2.5" Leveling kit on 4x4

I recently installed an NCD leveling kit on my 4x4 cc. I didn't really do my research and have recently noticed a couple people saying that a 2.5" kit will crack the spindles on a 4x4. Has anyone ran into a problem with this? Should I purchase a new 2" kit or is there any real threat?

Re: 2.5" Leveling kit on 4x4

The problem you may have is the upper control arm hitting the upper strut mount (bucket). You can visually see if there is contact by looking in the wheel well to see if there is a nick on the bucket or feel underneath the a arm for any denting. I have the same kit as you and noticed a slight impact on mine. It is not serious right now but I am going to switch to the 2" kit since I only have 500 miles on my truck and do not want any long term issues. NCD said you could also grind away material on the upper mount but that is up to you.

Re: 2.5" Leveling kit on 4x4

Not sure on NCD but PRG 4x4 kit is 2" only. 4x2 can go with the 2" or 2.5" kit.

Also forgot to mention but Gary at NCD is swapping my 2.5" kit for a 2" inch kit at no charge.

Re: 2.5" Leveling kit on 4x4

My PRG 2" is causing my uppers to hit the coil buckets. I didn't do a measurement before and after but the invoice said 2" 4x4. Hmmm. You can clearly see where they are hitting.

Re: 2.5" Leveling kit on 4x4

I have had the 2.5" kit on my 4x4 of about 10k miles now and yes the control arms do hit the coil bucket on occasion but I check regularly and have seen nothing major just tow nicks for the contact.

Thanks guys! Lots of good input. I think that I'll give the people at NCD a call and see what they have to say.

Sweet truck bro what tire size do you have?

I also have 2.5NCD on my 4x4 and no problems only marks where the a-arms hits the coil bucket.

I've had the 2.5" kit (2" spacer) for about a month with no issues.
