Air shocks or Air lift air bags???
Alright I am installing something to help with towing/ loading the truck. I lowered it with the Mcgaughys lowering kit. I got two options air shocks which of course replace the stock shocks or air lift bags, which is better? Also who has air shocks installed on their rig, and how do you like it? I also heard that installing air shocks ca help with handeling and ride quality is this true?

i had airshocks on my explorer. when they are semi deflated they ride smoth. once you bump up the psi its extremey stiff.

For towing and hauling the bags are the only way to go. I recomend this kit http://www.stylinconcepts.com/parts..../categoryid/30 But you will still need an onboard compressor to run it. Go to www.suicidedoors.com for that.
The air shocks will definately blow out under a heavy load and they ride way stiff when inflated to the higher settings. I used to install air suspensions PM me for specific questions.

I just got a set of Firestone air bags after doing a little research. I'm hoping they help out a little towing my travel trailer. In a few weeks i'll be able to report the results.

I'm not a fan of air shocks. I'd say bag it definitely. Leave the shocks alone to do what they do best. Get the bags for the additional function.
