Installing Deaver Question?

Is it better to leave the stock leaf on or take the whole thing off to install?

Re: Installing Deaver Question?

I did my install with the leaves in place, but if I was to do it again with air tools, I might just pull off the spring and do the mini-pak install on the bench.
Getting the overload off is easy, it takes a little more hassle to get the pak on afterwards...

Re: Installing Deaver Question?

I did it with springs on. A long drift or punch to align the leaves (don't use the bolt to align or you may strip the threads) and some forged C-clamps. If you are keeping the stock shackles, I would keep an eye on them as they seem kind of weak.
