Re: rear shocks

I would think that may be a good application for airbags. I don't tow, but I've read from those who do that it really helps with the squatting and the stability. Helinut1970 had them on his truck and loved them. Others will chime in about it, too.

Re: rear shocks

Adding a res. rear shock is not a sure way of getting the performance you want. The shock needs to be valved properly for your application. an example of this would be to walk into some big 4wd superstore and the highschool studend behind the counter looks through his book and says "sure they'll fit, these are the best shocks we sell". Two hours later and a few hundred bucks lighter, you truck has shiny new shocks but works no better.

Res shocks just have more shock oil so they do not have to be rebuilt as often and it takes longer to heat them up , should not make a huge difference for what your doing. Springrate/preload and valving would be more important than having a resevoir. I would go with airbags though to get rid of the squat, stiffer springs would probably help as well.

To make sure whatever you get has the right valving, buy them from Greg

Re: rear shocks

I don't understand why it would bounce? You bought a lift kit for that cool look, I'm sorry did you want something to perform?

Call Robby Gordon, isn't those his shocks he indorses?
