Banging Coilbuckets w/PRG 2" Leveling Kit Fixed...I HOPE!!!

I had a problem w/my stock UC's hitting the coilbucket pretty hard at full droop (which happens on a daily basis for me).

I finally got out the dremmel tool this past weekend & went to work massaging the contact point. I really didn't have to remove too much material to fix the problem. All I used was a small drum style sanding attachment.

If any of you are having the same problem, this seems to be a relatively easy fix.

Sorry Guys...I've been running like crazy for the past 10 days & haven't had time. I've driven 2500 miles in that time & just haven't been able to get the camera out yet. I'll try to get them on Mon or Tues.

Re: Banging Coilbuckets w/PRG 2" Leveling Kit Fixed...I HOPE!!!

I have a 2.5" on my 4wd, the guy from here who installed it for me grinder'd it upon install, mine still bumps but not enough to really piss me off lol, I have an indention, so maybe some day soon if I don't get new upper's I'll grind it more... so in a nut shell, yeah, I agree it works seeing as how I have a 4wd with 2.5" leveling spacer and it doesn't hit too much

Won't grinding the coil bucket weaken it, and over time cause it to fail?

There is really not that much material that has to be removed. It's really just the lip of it. I was going to this way back when but I don't bang the coilbucket everyday so I didn't bother.

There was a writeup(w/pics) on this a while back.
