Can you do more than 2.5" spacer?

Thought about buying a 2.5" leveling kit and cutting some brass shim stock to make it 2.75 or 3" is this possible? what would be the problems i would run into? it for a 04 xe 4x2

One guy was running two NCD spacers stacked on top of eachother to clear 37's. He said it wasnt really the correct thing to do and was only temporary, but it can be done. Im not sure what else he had done, but mostly stock. Anything more than the 2.5 spacer though and i would look into a new upper arm. I think Gary at ncd has a really *****in one for only $400-450. Dont remember. The stock upper arm will make contact with the coil bucket. Also stock shocks suck. If i were going up i would buy a bolton coilover and upper arm and be done. Not too high and waaay plusher than stock

you're going about it all wrong...Get the 4" lift spindles, you'll get a full 4 inches of lift, no arm issues and pick up ground clearence under the lower control arms...

what about 4wd? only subframe lifts? I want something I can do cheaply to the front to get it higher, I had some decent bottuming out today going to the beach, so I'd like to get her higher, I want to buy a deavor for the back, I have a 2.5" on the front, and yeah coil bucket is getting arm'd but it's ground a little so it's not too much of a direct hit

anyhow, I'm looking to do a slight lift on my truck since it's cheaper and I really don't have any cash... if I really had money I'd buy a truck that was higher LOL solid axle and possibly diesel just cause it's so heavy duty and I'd LOVE to run bio-diesel trying to convince the wife to ditch her jetta and get a Liberty diesel so we could lift it :twisted:

anyhow, yeah, what are possibilities of going close to 4" on a 4wd? I suppose a double stack of blocks with an upper arm would work... even though it's not the right way to go, or coilovers with the spacer on that maybe..?.. too way out of wack though for the alignment I'd imagine?

The OP has a 2wd, but for you the options are getting thin. The bottom line is the level kit up frt for you was the biggest bang for your buck, after that it's all about the wallet...Do you have the Off-Road package? If not, try to buy a used set of the O/R springs, they are stiffer then the non O/R, which will help for excessive bottoming, you can also get a set of Bilsteins for up front which will be much cheaper then a set of DR's or SAW's...

well i wanted to lift the rear with 1.5" blocks so i thought if i could get 3" out of spacers in front it would be level and enexpensive.

I have the OR package allready and don't care for the Ranc'HOs with 31000miles on them... I'll try to get a video of one of the spots I go to the beach... one beach crawling in 4lo at least two tires lift off the ground... another you're almost guaranteed to bottum out the truck... when I say bottum out, I'm not talking about the suspension... though I don't care for the ranchos at all... but then again they have alot miles I suppose... as I do more offroading than all the street guys... but then again I didn't care for the offroad ability new... so yeah, imo the rancho's suck BUT at the same time, I usually crawl it so maybe that's the springs? but my truck bounces a couple times so I'm pretty sure the shocks are gone... so I'll need to at least get bilstiens, I'd prefer a set of coilovers... could I go a little higher with a spacer on the coilover since it'd add preload? I'm guessing around 1" more and I'd be maxing?

I dont think Greg recommends spacers on any of the coilovers he carries.
