Re: Ready to get NCD leveling kit but..

Well, I had no idea who came first. I'm new to the Titan and its mods and thats why I ask for help/opinions. But if it makes you feel better, I dont plan on getting anything else from NCD (to pricey anyways)

Re: Ready to get NCD leveling kit but..

hooligan, PRG's spacer and NCD's spacer are not the same... PRG's spacer mount bolts threads into the ALUMINUM, NCD's threads into the spacer but also uses bolts that are through the spacer, not just relying on threads... is PRG's kit bad, no, but NCD's is somewhat original

that's all they changed on it as i stated in my first post, where i used the term "modified". but hey you're entitled to kick the little guy down and buy from NCD as you've done.

Personally, I'm a PRG fan. He has an outstanding reputation for his customer service. I'll pay for that any day of the week.

As for who's actual product is better? I can't say. They're too similar. After spacers are installed, you should put new bump stops in regardless of whether you're 4WD or 2WD. They come with the PRG kit.

Look at this post to see the bump stop. It's what keeps metal to metal contact from happening at full compression.

Well I do believe it was you who said that ncd "modified it", I was wondering if it was for better or worse.

either kit would be fine. you could save money get the NCD or support PRG's efforts for doing R&D on many titan suspension components and future products. PRG has bolts integrated in the spacer, NCD has bolts that go thru with washers. other than that the specifications of the spacer is originally PRG's. yeah, to most they're just billet aluminum but much more was involved in developing them.

Re: Ready to get NCD leveling kit but..

I have like a steel one, it's not a one piece spacer, and I've never had a problem... to the best of my knowledge the only kit that ever had problems was the daystar.... ? ....

I believe in supporting, but I do think Greg HAS made money on stuff and could possibly have costs go down for special sales, people will see the sale as a better reason to buy from him. I didn't pay money for my leveling kit I did a trade... so I don't even apply on that exact front, BUT all the suspension stuff I'm looking into getting I'm hoping to find used only because of cost I'm not trying to be cheap, but I don't have the money for the mods anyway and I'm cutting in cash from where ever I can so I got a VERY tight budget. if I happen to save $2,000 in a year for a performance lift, I'd probably sell the truck by then anyway ....

I believe in doing it right or not at all... I plan on buying my stuff all originally sourced through PRG, but just can't go direct because of cost I want the 4" performance lift... but I'll probably end up peacing it together.

if we the consumer save for longer we can afford to get more expensive stuff... if the company entends his duration to where he makes money on the quantity he sells by a larger number he could drop prices slightly... it works both ways... I'm not saying he's too expensive as he seems to fall in line with others, BUT all else equal, people do R&D on more popular vehicles and have a larger market and can thus have lower prices/as they won't take long to hit the duration of where their R&D is well paid off... I'm still considering cutting my losses to get such a vehicle... something more in initial buy but less for mods possibly a diesel we'll see...

for the record, I bought my aFe stage2 intake on here in the original spark plugs ect group buy... saved me money, I wasn't even in the market for an intake... it so happened I could afford it so I got it. I'm pretty sure Greg is to the point on his leveling kits it's sheer profit and his R&D has been paid off... why does he not do a group buy or some kind of sale? I'm sure his blocks don't cost him $100 a pop to make... so he could still have a profit margin... more sales would probably be had and he'd still make money, and make people initial customers and they'd probably buy from him again . Obviously he has profit if the more you buy at one time the less it costs like a Performance lift package saves you bucks... it's the quantity thing comming into play, it's a mixed group buy for one customer

like I said, I'm not complaining, just saying it CAN work both ways... Greg knows his stuff is worth the price, and he knows he'll still get sales... so he has absolutely no need or desire it seems to do such a group buy unless I missed it somewhere.. I did notice he puts up ads for lifts in the classifieds so obviously he CAN cut prices and loose a small percentage on profit and sell alot higher quantities if he so chose... and I'm stoked to see him going the extra mile and putting stuff fs here for less... and he probably does do some other discounts which just never pertained to me, I just figured someone has to be the voice FOR consumers... we're mostly cheap, some for different reasons... I paid $30,000 for my 4x4 XE crew OR equiped Titan... I personally think I'm not much of a cheap azz. I could've walked away or lowballed the heck out of them and seen where we went from there... I also noticed the one guys post showing how PRG pointed him in the right direction for a 4" performance lift or something similar. so don't take this as a stab at greg because that's not what it is... if he see's this and decides to have a sale right on! good for him and the guys who get in on it. if not it's just another post stating an opinion nothing more nothing less...

take that as you will I suppose. please don't get all pissy as that isn't the outcome I have intended for this post... just another perspective about this whole price vs copycat stuff... honestly, if he buys an NCD, yet gets a PRG bump stop in a small sad way he's still supporting PRG. which is good at least they didn't copy that...

Re: Ready to get NCD leveling kit but..

Selling leveling kits at cost has not benefited the titan aftermarket offerings from this company nor has it even benefited the company selling them. There isn't much else to offer from that company except a LT kit and UCAs, high-end items that a small percentage of titan owners can afford or are willing to purchase.

Look at the product offering from prgproducts. Greg making a profit on leveling kits has allowed him to expand and help other companies in the suspension industry expand the product offering for the titan. The markup on other items he sells isn't as much as one would think.

I vote for greg's way of helping the titan aftermarket.

I hope you are not using Microsoft products.
