Re: SWAY-A-WAY question

I don't know about the truck world, but in the ATV world, dual and triple rate springs are only necessary because of poor valving. With the correct valving a single rate spring is all that's necessary.

Maybe Greg can provide some insight into this?

You can figure the rate of the two combined springs by doing this though:

(A*B)/(A+B)= Spring rate of combined springs

There are some useful tools here:

Re: SWAY-A-WAY question

There just isnt enough travel to make dual-rates work. You wil jsut endup blowing through the first part of the travel and bottoming everywhere. Single rate is the way to go. Even the fastes desert trucks are going to a more linear rate (longer bottom coil, very short upper).

Re: SWAY-A-WAY question

Geez, the top coil is just about binding at ride height. May be better to just run a single linear coil.

Re: SWAY-A-WAY question

Holy coilbind Batman!!! You just need a longer (18" x600 spring) and good valving. You may want look into getting a tender spring too. It looks like you have 12" shocks??? You already have dual rate and you can see how well that is working. Also, be sure not to tighten that upper res clamp too tight, that is right where the dividing piston is.

Re: SWAY-A-WAY question

Really? I went off roading any my rezzy slid all around, when I got home I tighten the heck out of it, but not enough to what I would think deform the rezzy? I mean mine is held on with a worm clamp and I tightened it with a screw driver, but I didnt think you could get a worm clamp to tighten that tight with out it stripping out.
