PRG Trip part 2...DMZ Trip part 1..New Custom Tube bumper

I made my second trip down to southern CA to get some more goodies from Greg...some new PRG UCA's....SAW bracket lifted coilovers...CST end links...and Traction bars. I also met up with Tim Duncan , owner of DMZ Fab and Race Prep http://dmzfab.com/zone.html ...for a new custom made tubular bumper.

Somehow there was a mixup as to what day I was supposed to be there...Tim was expecting me...Greg was not...Greg was in the middle of a Frontier mini-lift installation in 108 degree in the shade . He told me to have a seat and he would do my installation next. Greg installed everything mentioned except the traction bars...he ( Along with myself and a friend of mine just WATCHING ) was spent. He asked if I minded if Tim could install the Traction bars...I said NO problem..and even if Tim couldnt I would just have somebody up north weld them on..it was just too hot to continue outside.

I had dropped off my truck with Tim the night before and he graciously drove me to a nearby hotel to stat at while he measured and fabricated the bumper...picked us up at the hotel with my license plate tiewrapped on to drive to Gregs for my install while he finished welding up and painting the bumper.

Came back from Gregs install...the bumper was awesome...Tim mounted it and welded up my Traction bars to boot. It was an awesome trip ...awesome fabrication and installation by 2 fine gentlemen...it couldnt have gone better.

My bumper is Tims revision 2 version...he removed some plate from the top of the tubes to make the bumper appear more tubular in design from revision 1...we all loved the look. And if you notice...Greg had some new Traction bar mounts ( Forward ones ) that look much cleaner then the first versions.

Here are some pics....

Re: PRG Trip part 2...DMZ Trip part 1..New Custom Tube bumper

I really have no clue what one of the production versions will be going for...I got a really good deal for leaving my truck all day /overnight so he could do all the measurements and get all his tooling to start making production versions ( My revision 2 style was the first mounted on a standard Titan rearend...the first revision 1 was mounted on another forum members ( Pete...pgthe1....My new Skidplate and rear bumper ) truck with fiberglass quarter panels so the measurements were different .

Tim is in the same league as Greg when it comes to customer service...quality of work...etc ( They are actually friends ...Tim actually welded up my Traction bars for something I paid Greg for ...Greg said he would square up with Tim for the install...I paid nothing to Tim for the install of the traction bars. ) so I am sure whatever the production version costs will be an awesome value. Tims email and phone number are on his website shown above in the original post to get ahold of him for pricing.

nice. excellent choice of components....how are those rear bils, you plan on getting a larger leaf pack to compliment them?

54, rear bumpers are pricey, 850 or so last I checked....not sure about this 2nd version though, might be more....but they are high quality bumpers

Thanks...the bilsteins work fine, but I wanted a pair of the new SAW rear shocks just because they are so visible now with the new rear bumper Just happened that greg was out of them at the time I was at his place.

Since I commute so much in my truck ( 60K on the clock ) greg talked me out of a pack for the rear...I already have heavy duty traction springs in the back ( Can barely see the red springs in the pics ) and now traction bars as well. Those SAW rears with res. look mighty purty...when greg gets them in I will be sending him the 400 bones

Looks nice! If those are the same rear SAWs that greg first got in when I was there getting my truck done they are mighty purty haha. I was trying to get him to give them to me instead of the radflos but they were only for a stock titan at the time

I believe these are the ones http://theshockguy.com/fixed_90_piggyback_2.25.html ... and I believe Greg said they were 400 delivered...so Greg even had a better price then this link. They are Purty

Those are just the generic version of the ones I sell. Ours are custom valved and a custom length(actually 2 different versions for stock and for lifted) and use special stainless bushings so they are a direct bolt-in.

Your bumper gave me the inspiration to follow through on it

Tim did mention you were crying before I even made it down there though

That is sweet. I want one. DMZ Fabrication appears to make some great products.

^^^So when I want to search for this in the future, I can type in "Fabrication" and it will show up, LOL, because DMZ is only three letters and we have to enter four!!!
